I hope the Merrimack recruit started the fight. Even more, I hope that A Rod won it. :)

Waterloo had another penalty for kneeing at that time. The odds are that penalty happened first and the fight came after. Conceivably Rodriguez came to the aid of the player being kneed, but it is just a guess.

Neither the article in the Waterloo nor the Sioux City paper mentioned the fight. Neither does the Finish Your Check message board.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2014-15 Part II

On Saturday, the Toronto Patriots defeated the Hamilton Red Wings 6-0. That ends their regular season. Jacob Hayhurst scored four goals. (FWIW, that is just one fewer than Brandon Pirri scored in his final OJHL regular season game.) http://ojhlsite.stats.pointstreak.com/boxscore.html?gameid=2473755

Hayhurst's line is now 49-23-32-55-16.

The OJHL is pretty random about awarding Stars, but I will give JH #1 Star. :)

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2014-15 Part II

http://pointstreaksites.com/view/ojhl/news-21/news_285779

Brady Wiffen of the Trenton Golden Hawks was runner-up to Hladin for the OJHL Top Scorer Award, but was the OJHL's top goal scorer, burying 53 goals in 52 games played. Wiffen becomes the first 50 goal scorer in the OJHL since Tyler Gjurich of the Buffalo Jr. Sabres in 2012-13 and is in elite company by becoming the 65th player since 1970-71 to hit the magical mark, joining the likes of Steve Thomas, Brian Gionta, Adam Oates and George McPhee. He is also just the second player in franchise history to notch 50 goals, joining Mark Prentice who recorded 56 goals in 2005-06 as a member of the Port Hope Predators. Previously in Trenton history, Noel Burkitt of the Trenton Sting tallied 52 goals in 1997-98.

Also, the OJHL playoffs begin on Wednesday.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2014-15 Part II

You do great work on this thread Ralph. Thanks for keeping us informed. I hope both Hayhurst and Wiffen are in Troy next fall.

Wiffen will be in Troy due to his age. He has used up his junior eligibility. Hayhurst is possible, but unlikely, since his own twitter page says 2016.

Assuming that he recovers, Evan Tironese should be a noteworthy additions. The other two forwards whom I am expecting, Alex Rodriguez and Carlos Fornaris, are greater mysteries. Rodriguez may be suffering in the USHL like Miller did and turn out to be as good as some write-ups last year. Fornaris has improved from last season but he is in an easier league. Todd Burgess could show up, but I don't expect him until 2016.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2014-15 Part II

On Sunday, the Tri-City Storm lost to the Sioux City Musketeers 4-3. Alec Dillon saved 25 of 27 shots in 55:23. He entered after Jared Rutledge gave up 2 goals on 2 shots in 3:10. Alex Rodriguez had no points or penalties. http://ushlstats.stats.pointstreak.com/boxscore.html?gameid=2470034

Dillon's line is now 31-18-11-0-2.14-.918.
Rodriguez's line is now 39-5-9-14-55.

TCS and SCM play two games next weekend at Tri-City (Kearney, NE).
