Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2014-15 Part II

Will Brady get "50 in 50"? Very Gretzky like. :)
Do you ever sleep Ralph?

He made it at 4:28 of the first period. http://ojhl_site.stats.pointstreak.com/boxscore.html?gameid=2473734

He now needs two to tie and three to set the record for most goals in Trenton history. http://www.network54.com/Forum/2435...10/Brady+Wiffen+needs+two+goals+in+four+games...

Edit: I should have checked before posting. :(

Edit2: He may get the Trenton record today as he got a second goal in the first period.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2014-15 Part II

On Sunday, the Trenton Golden Hawks defeated the Pickering Panthers 9-1. Brady Wiffen had two goals and two assists. http://ojhlsite.stats.pointstreak.com/boxscore.html?gameid=2473734

Wiffen's line is now 50-51-37-88-66.
RPI 59 Wiffen 51

Edit: BW was named #1 Star. :)
Edit2: It's good to see whoever awards the Stars in Pickering being honest as opposed to awarding them to a team that lost 9-1. BTW, I notice that Pickering's coach is Paul Coffey.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2014-15 Part II

I think that I missed this. Brady Wiffen was named CJHL #3 Star for January. (The CJHL is all of the Tier II leagues.) http://www.pointstreaksites.com/view/ojhl/news-21/news_283034

3rd STAR – BRADY WIFFEN, F, Trenton Golden Hawks, OJHL (11 GP, 14 G, 7 A, 21 PTS, 1.91 PPG)

Trenton Golden Hawks alternate captain Brady Wiffen recorded a league-high 14 goals, along with 21 points, in 11 games played this past month. The OJHL’s second leading scorer, Wiffen continued his torrid scoring pace throughout January, firing home 14 goals to lead the entire league with 44 on the season. His 21 points in the month ranked second and consisted of a five point game, a four point game with a hat trick and eight multi-point games. Wiffen notched three game-winners, including both in back-to-back victories over division rival Whitby, to lead the Golden Hawks to a nearly perfect 10-0-1 record on the month, vaulting them back into contention for the overall regular season title.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2014-15 Part II

52 ties the record. He has one more game to set it.
Reading the Trenton facebook page it looks like the “franchise” record is 56...... Trenton Golden Hawks alternate captain Brady Wiffen joined the exclusive OJHL 50 goal club this weekend after notching his 50th and 51st goals of the season in his 50th game.
Wiffen hit the magical 50 goal mark in impressive style, recording two goals and two assists during a 9-1 victory over the Pickering Panthers. His 50th came early in the first period, beating Panthers netminder Austin Washkurak, with assists to Zach de Concilys and Matt Pizzo. He picked up his second of the night later in the period and would be named the game's 1st Star for his efforts.
Wiffen becomes the first 50 goal scorer in the OJHL since Tyler Gjurich hit the mark during his MVP season in 2012-13, finishing the year with 53.
He also becomes just the second member of the franchise to record 50 goals, joining Mark Prentice of the then Port Hope Predators, who buried 56 during the 2005-06 season while leading the league in scoring. Previous to the Golden Hawks, Noel Burkitt of the Trenton Sting tallied 52 goals for the club during the 1997-98 season.
The OJHL record for goals in a season is 75, recorded by Steve Walker of the Barrie Colts during the transitional 1992-93 season. Most recently, Greg Carey fired home 72 goals for the Burlington Cougars in 2009-10.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2014-15 Part II

So he has tied the Trenton record, but not the franchise record. A more important question is will he get 52 goals in four years at RPI? :)
