Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2013-14 (Part II)

The only men's recruit's game today is Austin (Manley). They are playing the Kenai River Brown Bears away. That's in Alaska, near Anchorage, so I will post the usual short info post in the AM. Here is an advance link to the box score: http://nahl.stats.pointstreak.com/boxscore.html?gameid=2250901. The Austin Bruins are playing three games there, (Th, F, Sa) and two next weekend in Fairbanks. Schedule http://nahl.stats.pointstreak.com/teamschedule.html?teamid=259116&seasonid=11164. It isn't hard to guess that they will spend the entire week in Alaska. Looking at Manley's tweets https://twitter.com/cmansSHA22, the team has been in Alaska at least since Tuesday.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2013-14 (Part II)

A total of 39 goals so far-counting 9 recruits-we better become a clutch and grab defense and get outstanding goaltending.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2013-14 (Part II)

That's unbelievable considering Quinnipiac recruit for 2014-15 Landon Smith has 40 goals just by himself and leads the BCHL.

Although I agree with Dr's statement, only four of our recruits are forwards, and they all play in the USHL which has become a significantly better league than the BCHL. Note that Evan Tironese had 23 goals last year as a 17-year old in the BCHL and only 6 so far this year in the USHL. Landon Smith is also 19.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2013-14 (Part II)

Actually, Smith is 20 & will be 21 at the start of the 2014-15 season (Oct.18). The USHL trade deadline ended last night, 11:59 CST, with none of our recruits moving. Unless there's a trade still in the works that hasn't been announced yet..... https://twitter.com/USHLHockeyOps

I used his birthday from Heisenberg https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AoPLTHefMmmTdHkwbDlIemR5c2dGSXZveWF3OWNJZVE&gid=1 which is 10/18/94. I see that Salmon Arm has the date which you gave http://www.sasilverbacks.com/league...&leagueID=9222&teamID=378213&playerID=1069490. Yours is probably correct and illustrates my point even better.

Had me worried for a while that I couldn't even do simple math anymore. :D

5 of the nine are D-men......perspective.......breathe.
...

I did indicate that in post 431, but also 20 of the 39 goals were by those d-men.

When the smoke clears I would like to see more scoring, but Melanson and Tironese can score. Nanne is coming back from injuries and did score last year in the BCHL, so I am not ready to pass judgment on him. Fornaris will probably have another year to develop (and he did well in his last game :) ). The class coming in is better in scoring than whom they are replacing. I am still holding my breath for 2015.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2013-14 (Part II)

....well, if we're looking for scorers from Jr.'s, we can always go back to Cornwall.....how'd that work out? :D
