Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2012-13

What did SA see in the BRO? ;)

Probably the same thing i saw-huge upside potential, huge body, and the right temperment. If we get to see LC play all 4 years in Troy at some time some stupid jerk is just going to rub him the wrong way and we will see a bit of that temper on display. He still has some things to work on (haven't we all?) but he is making tremendous strides and I am sure garnering lots of attention.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2012-13

The boxscore was revised to give Wood a game misconduct at the end of the game (or during the shootout?). I'll modify the early post.
just got word from Yeti that it was an after the game tiff (skating off the ice) that Jake was involved in.

I wouldn't mind seeing that once in the correct situation. It's the fighting day after day that isn't going to help.

I was reading Yeti's blog post (linked by turk) and the comments that fans posted to it. It sounds like the USHL is a training ground for incompetent refereeing.

just by looking at the stats it looks like it was Alex Rauter that Jake was involved with.....Rauter's a Cornell commit.

Can't hurt to get a dislike for the faux red. ;)

Rauter played for Choate. They didn't play Gunnery (Wood's school) last season, but did two years ago.

I should add that Rauter had the game-winning shootout goal.

Edit: Never mind the Choate-Gunnery part. Rauter was at Choate for only one year.

Perhaps once they graduate, they go to the ECAC?

Of course I agree. But it is sure nice to have a little intimidation factor working for you. Any thing we can do to have the opposition have to look around abit and take them out of their play. Would never want any of our boys to be involved in tussles all the time and rack up DQ's. But certainly want other teams to think a little about the fact that if they take some liberties with us, we are going to respond with some very physical activity.

Good golly, that wasn't even close!

that sums up the PxP guys call, " a right and another right...a right..a right and another right".

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2012-13

don't know how but Devito is in Lincolns game tonight... http://ushl2011.stats.pointstreak.com/boxscore.html?gameid=1978044 and he no longer appears on the USHL Transaction Page (for the suspension) http://ushl2011.stats.pointstreak.com/transactions.html?leagueid=49&seasonid=9358
He threatened to beat up the USHL commissioner. ;)

Lincoln had a third suspension. Seriously, there could be a limit on how many players a team can lose in a given game with other suspensions being delayed, but then I would have expected DeVito's name to appear with new dates.

There is nothing on the blog yet as I am sure you know.

I have a vague recollection that Rabbani had a similar reputation before coming to Troy. Perhaps he is the one DeVito should be compared to. Rabbani was a late signee, so I didn't follow him on the recruit thread.

You and I aren't the only ones who don't know for certain.
Earlier on Saturday, the USHL posted three new suspensions for the Stars because of incidents in the Omaha game the night before. According to the Pointstreak transaction page, Max Humitz, Jimmy DeVito, and Jake Wood were all suspended one game. I expected that all three would be out of the lineup against Sioux Falls, but DeVito did play last night. Only thing I can think of is that the Stars appealed DeVito's suspension, and won.
