I think you're insinuating that Captains make selfish players. If so, then I couldnt agree less.

I think we were a team that relied on underclassmen logging major minutes, and being relied upon to produce points. It took them awhile to acclimate to the speed of the game and to gain confidence. Its that simple, IMO.

I agree. The problem may have been that the people with the most leadership ability were not allowed to lead early in the season.

As to players wearing A's and C's in the 12-13 recruiting class, I know Miller and Zalewski were, and I think Fulton was also.

"...Zalewski, a 19-year-old power forward with plenty of finesse, was the Vipers’ top scorer with 38 goals and 37 assists, both of which led the team. A left winger who also took faceoffs, he played in all situations. He displayed a penchant for scoring big goals late in games, including the tying goals that anchored two big comeback wins versus the Prince George Spruce Kings.

The most dominant Viper this season, Mike was named the team's most valuable player.

He will attend and play hockey at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute next year, just an hour or so away from his home in New Hartford, New York."

“I wouldn’t be surprised if you see him playing pro hockey in a couple of years here. Just a great all-around player.”
