Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2011-12 Part II

That is something I defer to Ralph to comment on. I have no clue what that field would be like.(isn't all economics mathematical?)

There is also the voodoo type. :p

Now I remember why I keep track of the post number number of each recruit's last game. Relevant stuff gets buried under tangents.

Also at the beginning of the season, USHR reported that the CD Selects were in the process of being sold to a group in CT. Heres an update on that story:

"In other moves, Jim Salfi has, as we wrote about earlier in the season, indeed sold the Cap District Selects (they finished the regular season with a 1-39-5 record) to a group in Connecticut that includes former Avon Old Farms and UNH defenseman Eric Lind. The team will be known as the Norfolk Oilers and will play out a new arena in that city."

It appears the RPI mens and womens teams will be the only hockey teams using the fieldhouse next season.

The team will be known as the Connecticut Oilers and will play in Norwalk (population 80+K), not Norfolk (population < 2K). They will apparently have both EJHL and Empire teams. Unless one of the owners also has an oil company the name CT Oilers is a bit of a mystery.

One piece of tradition will be maintained - the new rink is a renovated warehouse.
