Re: RPI Pros V

This tidbit was in the USCHO ECAC report (alumni section):

However, upon checking the Aces' and ECHL website, Polacek is not listed on the roster, and does not show up on the stats page.
His name didn't appear in either of the game recaps, either.

I think the issue might be that Chase's hockeydb page (don't ask why his name is Chace, not Chase) has the most recent line as 2 goals in 2 games played for the Aces. If you don't check carefully enough, you won't realize that that's for the 2011-12 season.

Re: RPI Pros V

Per Nashville Predators' defenseman Jon Blum on Twitter, Jeff Foss is having season-ending knee surgery today. I'd heard he was hurt, but hadn't known how. Hopefully he has a good recovery and can play next year.

Most knee surgery is very effective and easy to predict recovery. There are of course the few cases that are more complicated but for the most part knees do well. i would expect Jeff to be back at full strength rather quickly. If it season ending it most likely is ACL or PCL-medial and lateral ligament surgery respoonds so well that most people are back at full strength within 4 weeks.

Yeah, he was loaned to the Aces for a point last year before he was injured and had two goals in two games.

Re: RPI Pros V

haven't been able to find any details yet but Tyler Helfrich has been suspended by the Bakersfield Condors....http://www.echl.com/echl-transactions-oct-24-p179867### Maybe he was mad that Eric B. got the cover of the new Condors "Beefcake" calendar..... http://www.bakersfieldnow.com/mornings/175241561.html

Odd...Jeff Foss retweeted this: https://twitter.com/Brezzy05/status/261169942672596993 Maybe he's moving to a new team or moving on from hockey and it's a formality?

yeah, I had seen that when I was looking for some info. Interesting that on Monday, Bakersfield changed their Facebook cover from this....http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...et=a.10150666293038633.420819.55106008632&typ to this.....http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...66293038633.420819.55106008632&type=1&theater

From Tyler:

Told myself id play hockey as long as my groins let me. Yesterday I made the hardest decision of my life to hang up the skates...I'm disappointed in how my retirement from the game I love is being portrayed to the public right now. I wish the @Condors all the best. Thank you Bako fans for all ur support. You are without a doubt the best and most supportive fans in any league, any sport #condorstown

Not sure how it's being portrayed, but hopefully it gets straightened out. Best of luck to Tyler, always sad to see guys have to hang them up.

I'm going to guess that the fact his new girl was with him for the week prior & then went back to Calgary followed by Tyler's decision to retire. Maybe that's what's being "portrayed"?

Re: RPI Pros V

Real sorry to hear the news about helfrich. Have been told by several who really know that he had far more potential than we ever got to see at RPI.

Re: RPI Pros V

Thanks, I didn't even know Smitty had gone on to the pro ranks. He was with EHC Neuwide..... http://www.eliteprospects.com/playersearch2.php This is an excerpt from their website from a game played 9/23/12, whether he's still with them, I don't know..........The EHC Neuwied has lost the last test before the start of the league season when fellow competitors Hamm with 9:2 (2:0, 2:1, 5:1).
The goals for Neuwied scored as two new Vyacheslav Tokarev and Justin Smith. More soon here.

Is Justin Smith playing hockey in Hungary? (I didn't even know there was a league there.)
