Re: RPI Pros IV

I liked the question about York congratulating guys when they score. I remember seeing him do that at RPI, never occurred to me that it was out of the ordinary.

Also the reporter: "We finally get to see you play some games here..."

It's probably out of the ordinary in the NHL, but I've always seen it in college, even with other teams.

And play very well.
I thought that the goal scorers in college always went to the goalie after they passed by the bench for congratulations.
Does he go out and seek the goal scorer? I didn't notice it against the Red Wings.

I know in college he would skate out of his crease to be about level with the faceoff dots. I wasn't able to watch either of the last two games, so I don't know, but it must have been something rather significant for the reporter to remark on it.

Re: RPI Pros IV

If Allen is in net tonight he will be facing his biggest test. St Louis at home is almost unbeatable this year. Here's hoping for one more victory tonight!

I am very torn about tonight's game. I want Allen to do well, but I also want St. Louis to get back ahead of the Rangers for the President's Trophy and clinch their division. It seems like only way I can get everything I want is if it ends as a 1-0 Blues shootout win. Yorkie would get his first shutout and the Blues would get 2 points.

Same here. The Blue Jackets gameday blog seems to indicate that Allen in fact will be starting: http://bluejackets.nhl.com/club/blog.htm?id=344&navid=DL|CBJ|home
Scroll down to 3:05 pm, there's a pregame interview with York.

as a Ranger fan, I say, COME ON YORKIE! BTW, 2pts gained through the SO are worth less than ROW (regulation/overtime wins) if a tiebreaker is needed.

Rangers have 4 tough games left-but are odds on favorite to win the east. But I would love Allen to give them a little help in the race for the President's Cup. He can also do a lot to cement his position in the Columbus organization with a great performance tonight.

Re: RPI Pros IV

walked in the door just in time to see that Blues 2nd goal....ewwwww. I'm sure Allen wants to play well in front of Ken Hitchcock. When Hitchcock was let go by Columbus, Allen had some concerns because he was Allen's biggest supporter in the organization.

That was a rough one, but I'm glad we got it. That's interesting about Hitchcock, I didn't know that. I wouldn't mind if York ended up playing for the Blues under Hitch at some point! But with two #1's signed for the next two years, it might be a while before that happens. Yeah, I'm pulling for a ROW for tiebreaker reasons, especially now that there won't be any shutouts.

Re: RPI Pros IV

Allen wins again! Three straight starts, three straight wins! I hope he's making quite an impression on the knuckleheads in charge of the Blue Jackets...

Re: RPI Pros IV

Freaking Yorkie.:p I'm very glad he got the win, and looked great doing so. He had a few huge saves in there, should make the highlight reel a few times. He's really on a roll, 3 wins in a row against three playoff teams.
