RPI Pick-To-Click 2019-2020

Re: RPI Pick-To-Click 2019-2020

Congrats to sezenack on back-to-back weekly wins, though I am holding onto an ever-slimming lead for overall first place.

Friday was great! A number of RPI forwards scored a goal and added an assist, including Jake Marello (sezenack), Ture Linden (no one), and the ineligibles. That said, if you really wanted points, you should have chosen Owen Savory (lugnut92), who fell a single save short of the QS, but tallied an assist to be the most valuable Engineer. Saints goal scorer Ted McGeen (no one) was the best option for the visiting side, but who cares about them.
Once again, Saturday did not live up to the excitement of Friday. Either Tristan Ashbrook (1 G; no one), Kyle Hallbauer (1 A; engineerhockeyfan), or Owen Savory (QS; no one) would have been fruitful options, but that's about it. Greg Moro stood out among the Golden Knights with a pair of assists from the blue line.

RPI turns it's attention away from the Houston Field House as a road trip takes them to Princeton and Quinnipiac, neither of whom have won an ECAC tilt yet. Every time I say that it ends poorly for us, but maybe change is coming.

Picks must be in by 7:00 ET on Friday, November 15.

You may NOT choose the following player(s) for this weekend:
RPI: Chase Zieky, Patrick Polino, and Will Reilly
Princeton: Jackson Cressey and Corey Andonovski
Quinnipiac: Odeen Tufto, Wyatt Bongiovanni, and Peter DeLiberatore (*holy long names, batman*)

Re: RPI Pick-To-Click 2019-2020

Congratulations to ME.

RPI got out to an early lead on Friday thanks to a Simon Kjellberg (lugnut92) goal, making him the MVP of the night. Owen Savory (ehf, RPI fan 4 life) did put up the QS in the semi-losing effort, which is lovely. Princeton was also led by their first goal-scorer, captain Derek Topatigh (Ralph Baer), who does not pronounce his name at all how I would have expected. Fun.
We earned no points on Saturday, even though points were available from assists by Mike Gornall and Rory Herrmann. Pointman Kārlis Čukste notched assists on each of Quinnipiac's goals, so he would have been a good choice, but we were all obviously scared away by those wicked diacritics.

Query: Does anyone with a better memory than me know when the last time that we all whiffed on a game was? There have been way too many games where no RPI players earned points, but I feel like we always at least get something from the opposition, especially when [redacted] was using his goalie strategy.

Weird weekend coming: RPI begins with the Beanpot-displaced home game against Harvard (5-0) before finishing the interrupted home-and-home with Canisius (2-7). We'd better run it up again that night. I'm liking this whole "positive goal differential" thing.

Picks must be in by 7:00 ET on Friday, November 22.

You may NOT choose the following player(s) for this weekend:
RPI: Chase Zieky, Patrick Polino, and Will Reilly
Harvard: Casey Dornbach, Nick Abruzzese, and Jack Rathbone
Canisius: Austin Alger, Matt Hoover, and Matt Stief

Re: RPI Pick-To-Click 2019-2020

Congratulations to engineerhockeyfan for taking their second weekly win and bonus point and jumping into an exciting three-way tie for second place with sezenack and Ralph!

Corey Babichuk (no one) kicked off the scoring for RPI on Friday night with a goal from the blue line to be the MVP in that losing effort. Obviously Casey Dornbach earned that honor for our worse-red opponents with a hat trick, but he was ineligible. Behind him, a whopping six skaters and the goalie were all worth 2 PtC points, including Jack Drury (2A; lugnut92, engineerhockey fan) and Reilly Walsh (1A; sezenack, RPI fan 4 life).
RPI scored the same number of goals Saturday as Friday and earned a better outcome, but no eligible skater was worth Babichuk's three points on Friday. That said, Babichuk (no one), Mike Gornall (no one), Todd Burgess (RPI fan 4 life), and Simon Kjellberg (Ralph Baer, engineerhockeyfan) did earn 2 PtC points. Linden Marshall (*shakes fist at cloud* no one) earned both the Quality Start and an assist to be the real optimal choice for the men in Cherry. Favorite picks among literally everyone who wasn't me Simon Gravel and Nick Hutchison scored the two GGGs.

Re: RPI Pick-To-Click 2019-2020

Are there games this weekend? ;)

ah **** i was doing this in the middle of the work day and I forgot that I never actually posted the weekly kickoff.<hr>Link back to the first post with details on scoring

Have you ever wanted to pretend we're in Hockey East? Well this weekend gives you that opportunity as RPI will be spending their Thanksgiving weekend on the road against a pair of HEA opponents, starting with UMass-Lowell followed by the much worse and eminently beatable Merrimack (we're definitely losing this game).

Picks must be in by 4:05 ET on Friday, November 29.

You may NOT choose the following player(s) for this weekend:
RPI: Chase Zieky, Patrick Polino, and Will Reilly
UMass-Lowell: Matt Brown, Carl Berglund, and Chase Blackmun
Merrimack: Tyler Irvine, Logan Drevitch, and Declan Carlile

Merrimack: Statistics | Roster (Beware L. / T. Drevitch confusion, especially since Logan is ineligible)

Saturday

I wonder of Uens will be unanimous.
