RPI Pick to Click 2017-18

Re: RPI Pick to Click 2017-18

I think we can guarantee Ralph and lugnut aren't getting any points from Harvard on Friday, seeing how they both probably forgot about another game happening...

Re: RPI Pick to Click 2017-18

Pending someone pointing out another embarrassing typo, I win again! Yay me.

Linden Marshall did a good job on Friday. Hooray. Merrick Madsen (SO; FlagDUDE08) did a better job. If you're a good person who didn't make the moral error of picking an opposing goalie, Jack Badini (Ralph Baer, engineerhockeyfan) was your best bet on the Crimson, putting up a goal and an assist.
The goalsplosion on Saturday meant there were plenty of good options on both teams. RPI was lead by defenseman Will Reilly (1-1–2; lugnut92, hawthr). Dartmouth defied my pre-week preview, by putting up six assists from the blue line. Tim Shoup (no one) and Connor Yau (no one) had two helpers each, and Shane Sellar (1-2–3; no one) joined them with four PtC points.
Jared Wilson's (lugnut92, engineerhockeyfan) game-tying goal made him the Engineers' MVP (among skaters) last night. Meanwhile, Jake Horton (1-1–2; lugnut92) participated in both Harvard goals. Linden Marshall had another huge night with 45 saves, earning the quality assist.

Re: RPI Pick to Click 2017-18

Link back to the first post with details on scoring

RPI gets the quick turnaround to host the North Country pair this weekend. We reeeeeeally need to beat SLU (4-14-2) if we want to not take last in the ECAC, and hopefully at least put a dent in Jake Kielly's Hobey hopes in the game against the other jerks (16-3-1) on Saturday.

Picks must be in by 7:00 PM ET on Friday.

You may NOT choose the following players for these games:
RPI: Jacob Hayhurst, Evan Tironese, and Mike Prapavessis
SLU: Jacob Pritchard, Joe Sullivan, and <strike>Ben Finkelstein</strike>Nolan Gluchowski
Clarkson: Sheldon Rempal, Devin Brosseau, and Terrance Amorosa

Finkelstein is supposedly leaving SLU. Does he still retain the ineligible post?

That's a tough one without an official release from the team. He's still listed on their roster at saintsathletics.com and collegehockeystats.net, so I think he's still de jure the top scoring defenseman on the team. As much as I would like to force you and Ralph (and probably me) to pick someone other than Gluchowski, I don't think I can do that just yet.

Maybe you two should stop partially copying my picks, then. :p:D

Well now there has been a release from the team and he has been removed from their official roster, so I will say that Nolan Gluchowski is officially ineligible. FlagDUDE and Ralph must revise their picks for SLU. Also, everyone else needs to make picks. Come on people.

Make it Jake Stevens.

Re: RPI Pick to Click 2017-18

Well this is weird. Congratulations to all of us on our weekly win this week. Everyone who made a pick tied. Huh.

The newly ineligible Will Reilly (no one) earned a secondary assist on both RPI goals to lead the team. Across the ice, Michael Ederer (no one) scored the only goal for the Saints. Both starting goalies earned quality starts (apparently like 3 years ago I decided "time played" didn't matter as long as the goalie played at least half of the first and met the Sv% requirement).
Linden Marshall (no one) went two-for-two on the weekend with another quality start against Clarkson. Continuing the goalie theme, Nicholas Latinovich (no one) put up a shutout in his first career start. Great job, RPI. Real nice. (Oh also Nico Sturm scored a couple goals, but we didn't pick him so whatever)
