RPI Pick to Click - 2011-12

Re: RPI Pick to Click - 2011-12

I'm going to keep my same picks from a couple weeks back.
Friday:
RPI - Bo Dolan
Gin-gi-vi-tis (not to be confused with the much more deadly "Ginger"-vitis) - Joe Wilson

Saturday:
RPI - Matt Neal
"They took arr colors" /southpark - Dustin Mowrey

Re: RPI Pick to Click - 2011-12

Also,
I would not recommend shadowing our two best playmakers (Ferlin and Esposito), since they will both be in the stands.
Attention anyone that has picked Ferlin (cnor, RPIHFH, TuteScrooge)... you may change your pick.

Re: RPI Pick to Click - 2011-12

Burgie is being lazy this week and asked me to post the "lead-in" post. I am guessing he will the results from last week when he stops being lazy and sleeping all day. :D

This week is the first round of the ECAC Tournament and RPI will be playing at Clarkson. RPI is coming off a great two win weekend. Whereas Clarkson is still sucking and coming off a depressing two loss weekend.

Burgie wanted me to make sure you pick different players for each night. So the means THREE different players for both teams. But remember the third game might not be played.

You may NOT choose the following players this weekend:
RPI:
F-Brock Higgs
D-Nick Bailen

Clarkson:
F-Louke Oakley
D-Sam Labrecque

Statistics/Rosters:
RPI: Stats | Roster
Clarkson: Stats | Roster

Re: RPI Pick to Click - 2011-12

Friday
RENSSELAER: C.J. LEE
Clarkson: Ben Sexton

Saturday
POLYTECHNIC: PADDY CULLEN
Still: Kevin Tansey

Sunday (if necessary)
INSTITUTE: BRYCE MERRIAM
Sucks!: Joe Zarbo

Re: RPI Pick to Click - 2011-12

remember Clarkson has 2 Zarbos--Matt and Joe.

Any RPI injuries of note?

O'Grady has been out as of late, but in talking with him a little bit, he feels ready for the playoffs. This is obviously very unofficial; I would wait to see if Coach has anything to say about that.

I happened to see a bit of practice today, and O'Grady was wearing a no-contact jersey, but I imagine it's just make sure nothing happens between now and the weekend, given that Appert said O'Grady would have played last weekend if it were the playoffs.

Re: RPI Pick to Click - 2011-12

Sure, as soon as I chastise lugnut for posting zero points, he goes out and picks up a win. It's a conspiracy, I tells ya! Many congratulations to him. Just like TuteScrooge last week, this is lugnut's 4th weekly win of the season.

hawthr pulls himself into a tie with Ralph for second (just four points behind GRussinko) while lugnut moves into 4th place (just a single point behind the hawthr / Ralph tie). That means that cnor and viz, who were both shut out on the week, dropped a pair of places each. It wasn't a good weekend for TuteScrooge or REDaero, either. They also didn't pick up any points which means that there's now a sizable 7-point gap between 6th and 7th place heading into the final week(s). Also of note is that ehf, FlagDUDE, and RPIHFH are now all tied up with 45 points, which is greater than or equal to the number of points held by all of the non-participating posters.

Best of luck to everyone as the game nears its end for this season.

The top scorers of the weekend:
Friday:
RPI - McGowan's pair of goals and primary assist on the game-winning shot (nobody) earned him 5 PtC points and made him the high-scoring RPI player for the night.
Colgate - Spiro Goulakos (hawthr) unleashed his shot from the blue-line on the powerplay and garnered the high-scoring Colgate player of the night with 3 PtC points.
Saturday:
RPI - Tinordi (nobody) and Cullen (FlagDUDE) each scored a goal and assisted on the other's to earn 3 PtC points each
Cornell - Mathieu Brisson assisted on John McCarron's goal late in the 3rd and they both earned 2 PtC points. Neither was picked by any poster.

I picked Cullen on the wrong night:o Eh, I'd much rather the team gets the points (yay 4-point weekend!!!) than I do.

Re: RPI Pick to Click - 2011-12

Wimp! :p

Ineligible

Before I change this, why isn't he eligible? He's the 4th leading forward in scoring according to the link. Can I take Sam Labrecque, who is the leading dman, instead?

You're right. I was just going off of cnor's post and didn't double-check it. That shows me for trusting a ginger.

Labrecque is ineligible. McPherson is NOT
