Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

I might have missed the post but was there a (Insert number of minutes) of RPI Goal Horns produced this year?

Nine this year. 9:44 to be exact. And they didn't cheat with end-of-game horns, either. Of course all watching it did was tick me off. I'm not going to echo my exact thoughts on here today (I make no guarantees come February), but let's just say it involves people that spend a good deal of time in the Ocean State and things a reputable person would never wish, and leave it at that.

The only problem with these videos is that they all end with us not winning.

At least 12 minutes next season. :)

Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

We'd have to win a national championship unless the Union rule is repealed and we have a craptastic year but win the last game.

We could win our last home game and not win the National Championship.

Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

According to Kurt Stutt's book Skating Engineers, it's from about 1918. It's off Sage Ave, then called Avenue B, where Anderson Field is. A rink was first created there in 1912.

Thanks Ralph. I love those pictures of ancient hockey history. In the case of RPI it looks like it was not exactly a storied history if you go that far back: in a 10 year stretch from 1913-1922 the only team they beat was State College .

BTW, do you know who the Engineer is in the photo on the left front of the Houston Field House? Given its vintage, I assume that it is someone from one of the teams of about 6 or 7 years ago?

Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

Today is 6 September 2013. There are 29 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 5 October 2013 for the start of next season.

What's the number on it? It's too small to see.

99% sure its Marc Cavosie....I'm working from memory, so don't hold me to it.

The style of uniform is definitely from that vintage. In my earlier post I had guessed 6-7 years ago, but these uniforms were more from the 2001-2003 era when Cavosie played.

Lugnut, I sent you the pictures (Institute Rink, and the Pep Band in Hamden) and can't give you any more rep until I spread some around first. Did they arrive in your inbox OK?

Yeah, I got them. Thanks! If anyone else has anything they'd like to see a little different, tell me now. It goes live on /r/hockey tomorrow. (Here's the link again).

Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

RPI-TV picture is looking decent, at least based upon what we see from the football game.

Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

RPI beats Norwich 20-7. The backup QB got a 91-yard rushing TD with a minute left to lock it up.
