Qatar? Hope not, too much heat, too little ice.

Re: RPI Off-Season Thread 2012 Part II: (Insert Title Here)

Today is 4 July 2012. There are 94 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 6 October for the start of next season.

That is the day that an exhibition game is supposedly scheduled.

No disagreement here. I don't think anyobne here thought we are better without him. For whatever reason, it just didn't work out for him or the squad. I wish Pat all the best...provided he doesn't show up at another ECAC school...:D
Stand by because that is the most likley scenerio. Pat is a serious student and his return to University is inevitable. Remember even with Pat playing in the USHL which will serve as his sit out year he still will be a young 3rd.year student by some measures. I look for Pat to get alot of playing time for the Lumber Jacks which he lacked the last 2 years and get his game back together. My best guess is that he will end up back in the ECAC most likley at an IVY. Where ever he ends up that institution will be getting the steal of the century, as all who know Pat can tell everyone that he is the whole package HOCKEY PLAYER - STUDENT - HIGH CHARACTOR. Again good luck and Godspeed Patty there are alot of people in Troy routing for you remember once an engineer always an engineer ! ! !

If he does return to the ECAC, although I do not have any comment regarding opinion of it happening, I have a feeling that he will receive a fairly hostile response, especially if he comes in contact with the puck.

What college did or does his cousin play for again? I know he played against him one of the past 2 years but cannot remember what school it was he played at.

I certainly wouldn't be shocked to see him back east...but I'm hoping someone out west signs him up to avoid any HFH unpleasantries....:p If he were to happen to end up at a certain ECAC school in Schenectady Co., then his motives would clearly be revenge (a la Brett Favre to the Vikings) and all bets would be off as far as any warm feelings as far as I'm concerned.:D

He has to sit a year to transfer...to another D1 school

Not necessarily.......he may be a candidate for the 4-2-4. This means he attended a 4 year school, exited and got his associates degree (2) and then attend another 4 year school without penalty. Like I say, he may be a candidate.....not sure and too lazy to really look into it. :)

Anything is possible, but that certain school discontinued its CE program.

Don't see that happening. Like I said just a guess but I think he ends up as an Ivy. Which Ivy has the best engineering program I'll leave that to you guys.

And John Kerry wants to eat your baby. I'm not buying the scare tactics.

I have no idea what this means. Some may boo like the classless folks who booed during the Senior Night ceremonies.

perhaps his reception would be more in the lines of when D'Amigo came back....cheers to begin but boos when trying to beat us in the SO. I would hope it wouldn't become a "Huxley" type thing but who knows. Huxley never even played for RPI yet was booed for 4yrs. If you got to know Pat over the 2yrs. he was here I'ld find it hard to give him that kind of treatment.......but, if it came down to him having an oppurtunity to beat us, shoot-out/penalty shot, :D

It means troyboy's trying to scare me into not booing when an opposing player touches the puck.

Booing your own players at the college level is unacceptable. The other team is fair game. About the only time I've ever booed a non-pro playing for the team I supported was Emerson Etem (even then, MJ is technically "pro") while I was at the WJC.
