Re: RPI Off-Season Thread 2012 Part II: (Insert Title Here)
That clinches it-I am not going to apply.
Tuition is $43,350 this coming year.

Neither of those has an NCAA hockey team. Most here would agree with me(I hope) that the big 3 are RPI/MIT/Cal Tech, So lets compare, we know what RPI is. MIT = $52,507. Cal Tech = $50,709. The moral of the story is a world class engineering degree is not cheap !!! In fact if lugnut92's figure of $43,350 including R&B is correct RPI looks to me to be the bargin of the century !!!

The $43k is without room and board. It is just tuition. R&B is another $11k on top, but I live off-campus.
saw the game in person. Rpi scored 4 goals in 1:20 still an ecac tournament record. I screamed at rick smith #23 to shoot at the open net in ot. He did.Was checking out some old game footage on youtube. I came across early second period action in the '74 ECAC first round... RPI gave up 3 UNH goals in about 1:40... Don Cutts... all the comments were extolling Cox/Hislop as magicians
... still, we won in OT, 8-7.
Yes, Rick Smith!

That was a rather strange game since UNH's gaolie was sick or injured (I forget which) and let in everything at the start. It's too bad that the only video of that game that has surfaced was a dominating part by the CHC line. That is one of the few years that i missed multiple games-this being one of them. But remembered the write up about it. Just another one of those low scoring, defensive battles we used to have.![]()
IIRC, Cap Raeder was suffering from an ear infection. He could hardly stand up straight.
But he insisted on starting the game.
Let it not be said that RPI failed to appreciate his sense of dedication.![]()
FWIW the schedule page has been reformatted http://www.rpiathletics.com/schedule.aspx?path=hockey&. (That's still last season.)
Holy geez, that's ugly.![]()
