They didn't go up all that much (if at all) this year at RPI, with the exception of the prestige pricing games. Unfortunately for your wallet, Union falls into that bracket. I do trust the Student Union with their budgeting capabilities and to keep a decent price on the games.

Coming in yelling about looking towards making coaching changes is not asking questions, it's being a creep. A young team having issues closing out games or playing smart shouldn't shock anyone. It's all part of the ride.

But hey, if he wants to toss the coach out on his ear after the first good season this team has seen in a few years, I'll let him be the village idiot.

According to publicly available Union (RPI Student Union, that is) financial documents, the team is expected to raise $95,000 in ticket sales for the 2010-2011 season, while expenses are budgeted at $497,983.48, up 7.03% from last year. The students end up eating that increase in the form of a 3.37% increase in the activity fee, which will be $537.50 per undergrad next year.

It's important to remember that RPI students directly pay for all non-Salary hockey expenses through the activity fee. I'm under the impression we're unique among Div1 hockey teams in this regard.

Thank you for the details. As an alum, I don't keep good tabs on current student happenings, unless my friends are complaining about it on Facebook.

$95,000 seems a bit conservative, however it's probably best to be conservative than aggressive when budgeting potential income. Is there a discretionary fund for the next year if actual income overtakes expected?

I didn't realize the Union Activity fee was that high; I don't know if my Union fee went above $450. I could be wrong, though, I usually didn't look at the bill THAT closely.

Ticket prices and parking pass fees for the public did indeed increase this season. I don't have the forms nearby by to check but I'd guess that it was somewhere in the vicinity of a 10% increase. The fees for the Let's Go Red Booster club room increased dramatically ....and was sparsely populated all season long.

If, despite lower attendance numbers, we are consistently among the Top 3, then the rest of the league's attendance must also be suffering, No?

Student ticket prices remained constant. The season ticket price actually decreased because we didn't have the games at the TUC which cost an arm and a leg.

I will look into trends tomorrow, but I have two tests tomorrow, so it will not be tonight.

We are not privy to what kind of deal if any the 2 Ivies offerred. If they offerred him a full ride-then what he did is like repealing the law of evolution.

The rest of the league just has much lower attendance caps. If you ranked us by percentage of seats filled we'd probably be in the bottom third of the league...

This is based upon 8 October for the start of next season.

I have figured out why we are signing so many forwards and so few defensemen for next fall, and I am scared.

SA is going to use 4 forwards and 1 defenseman when at even strength. :eek:

I didn't think Dartmouth's crowds were generally that high.

BTW, isn't our capacity around 4800 now, what with the elimination of section 1?

It was 5013 before the renovation in the early 80s.
