RPI Off-Season III: Another Helping of Mindless Speculation and Idle Chit Chat

Re: RPI Off-Season III: Another Helping of Mindless Speculation and Idle Chit Chat

In honor of Scott Diebold, today is 28 August 2011. There are 34 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 1 October for the start of next season.

Not at all. Stay safe on north shore
Thanks - and you also. Looks like the storm is halfway between us. We get the wind and you get the rain. I'm not sure which is worse.

I take it we don't have all of the frosh numbers? After all, this COULD be Diebold... (or 1, or 30, or 31, or 33, or many other combinations of 1 to 2 digit numbers...)

I don't have the numbers besides for BRO and JL. I am going to use 33 for Diebold unless I learn otherwise. That was his number last year. It also was Kasdorf's number, but he isn't here now. The numbers from last season for most of the frosh are available, not so for the women. Also, it is possible that Haggerty will be using 39 since that is part of his Twitter handle, and 21 might be left vacant for a year, as often has been the case for honored players.

RPI misses out on Rochester,NY native F-Jordan Masters who recently played for SA in the Hlinka tournament a few weeks ago. USHR is reporting he selected UNH over RPI, BU, BC and UVM. Also made earlier visits to Miami and OSU. He would have been a nice pickup.

I know that there was some discussion of this on the thread earlier, but I didn't pay much attention until I read this on the ECAC site.
ORDA has certainly gone downhill. It appears that they don't read their releases before posting them or that they have high school interns writing them; or both.
I agree that the logo is at best just plain silly. The name - Fesitvus - wow, who thought that was a good idea? I'm going because the hockey should be good, but the promotion is about on par with what the ECAC and Atlantic City did for the tournament last March.

I just wanted to say that I hope that everyone in the path of "Irene" came out with minimal damage.
See you all at the field house in October. :)

RPI was first runner-up in the Masters sweepstakes:

“It was between New Hampshire and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute,” Masters said. “A lot of deep thought went into the decision.”

That would worry me if I really thought it to be true. But i would like to know the secret of losing over 55 pounds so quickly. Would love to market it as the DrDemento weight loss program. I suspect he is a rock solid 255(or more) and most of our opponents will get to feel it soon enough.

Maybe they are British pounds. ;)

Edit: Another thought. Do you think that the Freshman Dining Hall food could do it that fast?

I found quite the opposite. The freshman Dining food was far better to my mother's cooking. We used to call what she brought to the table as Burnt Offerings. Even our dog refused to eat from the table. RPI mystery meat was like prime rib to me.
