Just making my first post of the season. 9:28 left in the 3rd as I'm writing this. 3-1 Engineers. Another great performance by Diebold, including stopping a penalty shot! Oops, make that 3-2.

Okay, I have to say that someone needs to point out to Diebold that he has a perfect name to exploit as a goalie. Everybody has brick walls painted on their helmets; go with a Diebold Safe, fer cryin' out loud!

We did talk about that when we first recruited him, but not much since. FWIW, one of our women's team goalies, Brianna Piper, has a name that might even be more appropriate.

I got it working-thought it was not even close to the job done by RPI TV-but had to shut down as i got called out on an emergency. I left and we were up 3-1 and come back early this morning to find we had a bit of a letdown and settled for a 3-3 tie. We will see how this team reacts to that tonight-have to come out fast and put those last 10 minutes behind us. I would expect Merriam in goal and perhaps a little change in forwards. From what I heard last night, and the little I saw-whatever minor changes in lines that wer made did not work as well as we had done last week. Then again, this was a different style team to play against and the 6 penalties kept the lines from just rolling over. If they stay healthy-LaLiberte and Neal will be fun to watch.

I think that RPI slightly outplayed Mankato in the OT.

I expect that there will be several changes including in goal.

I think it was pretty dead even.. First half we carried play and generated chances, the tide turned around the 2:30 mark and it ended all RPI.

Hopefully the Mavs show up for a full 60(65) tonight, as I think we saw good Maverick Hockey for about 25 minutes. Hope RPI puts a complete one together and we should have one heck of a game!

FWIW, it's Hockey Night in Mankato tonight. Each youth team got free tickets. Hoping to pack em in tonight. Should be a fun atmosphere!

Great win and a tie for Minnesota State against a solid RPI team. The Mavs really battled in the last period of each game. They will need to play a full 60 on the road in St. Cloud.

Great third period both games, but extremely flat second period both games. They won't keep getting away with that.

Same with you guys. It was a fun series. I think you guys should be pretty good. Showed a lot of ability this weekend.
