Re: RPI MMXI III: Overanalyzing The Iron Men and Other Uses of Internet Bandwidth

went to HFH this morning to watch WJr's practice.....instead, there's a figure skating exhibition.....anyone know what time they'll be practicing today? No one there seemed to know.

It was bumped back to 11:00-12:30pm, I think there was a post here about it but I don't recall where I heard about the change.

EDIT: Turns out I read it from a WaP tweet referencing a Ken Schott post. http://twitter.com/without_a_peer/status/15940951495155712 and https://www.dailygazette.com/weblog...ld-junior-hockey-team-changes-saturdays-prac/

From the looks of things, RPI will be hitting the ice for practice themselves shortly here at the HFH. Appert, Vines, and several players were watching from Section 16/17. Players are trickling onto the home bench from the locker room now.

Kennedy is out on the ice with the rest of the team for practice, wearing an orange (presumably no-contact) practice jersey. Good to see him back out on the ice.

Some disappointing news... unfortunately we won't be able to have Jerry D'Amigo on the podcast today. We got bumped for some outfit called TSN. Never heard of 'em. Anyway, we had to scramble at the last minute to find a new guest, the only one we could come up with was some former backup goaltender from Ferris State. Hopefully you'll still tune in.

Can someone point me to the game notes link on the RPI site? I have looked and can't find.

Some schedule info, during the WaP podcast today SA mentions BU wont be on the schedule next season but are tentatively back on it for the 2012-13 season.

Among other things, InCH lists a first-half-of-year All-ECAC team http://insidecollegehockey.com/inch/2010/12/16/ecach_midseason/. Picked from RPI are Chase Polacek and JFK. I am surprised about JFK. I am also surprised that Rondeau was picked over York and Kinkaid. He certainly has been a big part of Yale's season, but I don't think that he has been the best goalie.

I agree with your assessment Ralph and would have picked York over Rondeau (I think you meant Kinkaid, btw).

Question regarding the podcast: You had mentioned Appert has the 2nd best hair in college hockey... who has the best?

How bout not picking Nick Bailen as best new face keeping in mind the catagory is not best true freshman or best non transfer but "Best New Face" givin his stats and his on ice perfomance thats a tough pick.I haven't seen the kid from Brown play but its hard to believe he has performed better or ment more to his team than NB !

Re: RPI MMXI III: Overanalyzing The Iron Men and Other Uses of Internet Bandwidth

Just a random thought on today's game....Had an opportunity to attend both open practices of Team USA and honestly was astounded by the level of talent top to bottom. There has been great American born players in the past Modano,Roenick,Chelios etc.but i don't think we've had this many in this age group assembled in 1 spot at the same time and most likely never will. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for local fans to come out and witness this event...I can't stress enough that it will be worth it to can football for the day and head to HFH.This is essentially the same team less a few players that took the world by storm last year right here in our back yard.....it will be a rare opportunity to cheer on both teams...DON'T MISS IT

John Burke.

If anyone missed the podcast, it's up on our site (and hopefully, you'll be able to subscribe to it on iTunes in short order). Also, don't miss our interview with Jerry D'Amigo, which we got in lieu of the podcast appearance. Not a bad replacement, really.

Finally, if you're not following us on Twitter (or at the very least, bookmarking our twitter page and checking it frequently if you insist on being a Luddite), you're really missing out on some exclusive stats and reports that you won't find elsewhere. Don't be the last to know.

I second the keen observations of tb. Makes sense that we will see Merriman today for at least half of the match IMO. We will also see some of the Grand Exhalted Ruler's goaltender from Cornell, so we will get a sneak peek before our tilt with them in the new year.
