RPI @ MC, Saturday, 11/30/19 (Turkey Leg Classic)

Re: RPI @ MC, Saturday, 11/30/19 (Turkey Leg Classic)

It appears that we are out shooting MC by a substantial margin but we just do not get the shots on net.

Re: RPI @ MC, Saturday, 11/30/19 (Turkey Leg Classic)

Where is the team we saw earlier in the year. These guys have stopped playing team defense. Leaving men all alone in front of our goalies.
Also, we do not have an energy line. Three players that will go out and change the flow of the game. We just skate up and down and hardly hit anyone.
We need to change that soon if we are going to compete in the ECAC.

Hard to decipher how many of these 4 goals were bad on the defense or bad on the goalie. TV is not like being there

It was a weird breakaway. It wasn’t clean, Reilly and Jerry were a half stride behind. Savory stayed back in his net, no idea why. If he comes out, feels like it gets stopped or broken up. The game isn’t definitely squarely on him, but he’s getting outplayed by the MC goalie. RPI isn’t going to win many games at all if their goalie isn’t equal or better to his counterpart.

The team we saw earlier this year disappeared with about 10 minutes left in the third period at Princeton. Against QU, Harvard, most of the game at Canisius, and yesterday we have been last year's team instead of this year's. Hope coach Smith can figure this out before next weekend when we have important ECAC games.

Of course this is only from watching on TV but he just looks less confident out there than he had been last year and early this year.

Re: RPI @ MC, Saturday, 11/30/19 (Turkey Leg Classic)

My impression is he is emulating Marshall - stays back in his net, goes down quickly and slow side to side. Big problem.

I am seeing the same thing. That was not his style before. He was more aggressive, taking charge, directing rebounds, and coming out to play pucks to his defense. The change is noticeable. ?? Coaching??

For the first time this season, I am ready to turn the game off. What happened to this team?
