RPI III: Revenge of the Seth

Re: RPI III: Revenge of the Seth

He was in a foot race for a loose puck behind our net and the Q guy beat him to it, Bergin extended one arm and pushed the kid, who went down hard into the boards. I understand the crackdown, but I personally didn't think it rose to getting tossed...using the free hand probably did him in. In the 3rd, a Q kid cross-checked one of our guys hard from behind into the boards and got 2 mins.

what a nice win, matched Princeton's speed easily and totally dominated the boards. Our PK is so insanely good right now and our PP is looking sharp. York played one of his best games ever, he controlled almost every single rebound and was able to see every shot.
Jerry is too good.
It's mind boggling how good our stick work is now compared to the start of the season.

Re: RPI III: Revenge of the Seth

Before anyone asks, 06-07 against Merrimack is the last time it's happened.

Since no one was going to ask, I'll remark that it was 4 power play goals scored that dude is talking about here.

First road sweep in almost 3 years.

Appert talked about the PK in his post interview with the Record...mentioned that he specifically gave Vines teh PK project and the impact has been immediate and positive...:)

I threw some of our PK numbers into excel to look for some trends. We started the season off OK, with the exception of the UMass game but slowly declined each game to a low right around the Union game in the Holiday Tournament where we allowed 3 PPG.

From there we haven't allowed more than 1 PPG in a game and we are currently killing at 0.900 in our past 5 games.

Similarly the power play started off averaging around 15% and has since come up to hover in the 20-25% range since. Currently at .226 which is very good compared to seasons past - on the borderline of what I would call a seriously dangerous PP. If we can get that average up to around 25% I think it would be a sight to behold. :D

Babo - Was that on TV or web? Do you have a link? I'm having a heck of time finding it.
