RPI III: Revenge of the Seth

Re: RPI III: Revenge of the Seth

They better start their investigation, because Mike Lee won Player of the Game. I know D'Amigo has already won one, but if Eberle won a second for the neighbors to the north, then why can't D'Amigo?

And on a tangent, why is my spell-checker on here demanding British spelling?

AFAIK, USCHO doesn't have a spell checker. It's probably a spell checker built into your browser.

BTW, JD'A is tied for 5th in the WJC in scoring. http://stats.iihf.com/Hydra/205/IHM205000_85B_7_0.pdf

Re: RPI III: Revenge of the Seth

That is wonderful news. The thought had crossed my mind that this could have been a nagging season long problem-I think he has disspelled that with his play in the tournament. Having a healthy D'Amigo and Bergin and Lee will make this team far more competitive.

Let's put it this way, he was motoring around defensemen that I can only assume are a bit better than some of the ones that we see in the ECAC. If there's anything nagging in the knee, he's certainly not showing it at all. Perhaps missing the BU game helped that out immensely.

Count me among the minority of those who could care less....so long as Jerry brings that same fire with him back to the ECAC. :D

Sorry, I'm sure this has been covered already, but do we expect to see Jerry back in time for the Q game?

On this thread everone thinks Harvard stinks...

Firstly, I have a long-standing hatred for sweeping generalities.:p

Second, Anyone who has spent any time at all following the ECAC knows that anything can and often does happen. You'll never hear me say any team is out of it with half a season left to play. In fact, I posted on H's thread commenting about how sad it was that roughly half of their posters were calling for Teddy's firing. If H can solidify their goaltending, they could easily climb into the middle of the stampede.

I'd think so. The WJC Semifinals are today so I don't imagine the Finals will be held off for a week.

The finals are on Tuesday. Jerry should make it back to Troy / CT easily by Friday.

It will be nice to see Jerry and Bergin in the same lineup for the first time since travelling to Potsdam. I agree that we are catching Quinny at a good time, which is crucial in this (and all) leagues. Two wins will certainly bolster the team's confidence and send us back on our way towards a bye in March. Let's go Red!

Re: RPI III: Revenge of the Seth

Just dropping by to say it was nice to meet several of you at the GLI this week. Ralph might be surprised to know that I even cheered the RPI team while sitting in the JLA.

I like what I see happening with this team and expect to see RPI on the national stage real soon.

We were probably the lesser of the evils. :D

Re: RPI III: Revenge of the Seth

So Black Friday is when students aren't in town and a rematch of Black Friday II?
They havent announced the Union games yet, it is possible we could see Union at home the second weekend in November for Black Friday. Just a thought....

Take out the Black Friday portion of the conjunction, and how about thoughts on the rest. Makes things even worse.

Is this Hagwell's way of telling RPI to go to Atlantic or something?

The timing of the Clarkson/SLU series is very unfortunate - it would've been nice to have students around for that one. (Is it weird that, instead of looking at past schedules online to figure out who our opponent was for Black Friday II, I walked over to my dresser and got out the free T-shirt from that game?)

I hope to heck redhead18 is right about Union. It'd be a real bummer to have no home league games in the first half of the season. I'd assume we'll schedule a home non-conference series or two in there if not, since the league schedule has nothing for us between 11/6 and 12/3.

And we could do Freakout! and Senior Night on the same night, as we did this year, which would have it against Quinnipiac. Depending on how the rest of this season shakes out, that might not be much better than Cornell though.

(Speaking of QU, I'll be there on Friday barring unforeseen circumstances and/or lots of snow. I'd love to make it to Princeton as well, but that probably won't happen this year unfortunately.)

He's hoping we'll be that twelfth team the Big Ten is looking to add. It's all part of his plan to jump-start the BTHC. Or something. :p

They could move the Freakout up to January like it was a few years ago, so we play either Dartmouth or Yale. I highly doubt they have the "whiteout" on the same night as the Freakout. :D

Re: RPI III: Revenge of the Seth

I just wanted to give one more shoutout to the RPI fans who were in attendance at the GLI. After MTU apparently iced the club team (), your group made sticking around worth it, even though my voice was almost gone.

"Where's Jack Campbell?!" *clap* *clap* *clap*clap*clap*

<---"He has a career!" ;) :D

Re: RPI III: Revenge of the Seth

Jerry just scored a really nice goal, partial breakaway, low shot beat the goalie 5 hole to tie the game up vs. Sweeden late in the 2nd.

He looks to be getting around pretty well out there tonight, gave an interview between periods in which he said the team was a little tired..

Be interesting to see him transition from the World Juinors back to ECAC play next weekend.:)
