Well here we go. All the "pieces" are in place. They have 3 fresh, experienced players and experienced back ups if they are needed. We need to play .500 over this weekend and next week. It will not be easy. They have played 20 games and only scored more than 2 goals in 4 of those games. The last time they scored more than 2 goals was November 3rd. The games this weekend are against teams below them in the standings. It only gets harder from here. And they better be ready for the Mayor's Cup. Union will come to play. Granted they have played better lately but I wouldn't advise giving up 41 shots like they did in the Army game and expect to win.

I don't know if anyone noticed, despite our current standings overall... we're 4-6 in conference play. I know it's just sweeping Union and SLU while losing to everyone else, but that's not too shabby in the grand scheme of things, presently tied for 6th (games out of hand). You have to wonder if we're looking to position ourselves a bit better for league play, while sandbagging non-con. We could very well make some noise in league play.

It really just comes to how much stock you put in the two Union games. We've looked pretty bad in most every game except the wins, and even yesterday wasn't particularly inspiring knowing how bad SLU is. We do have some games coming up that we should win if we want to be in the middle four. I see about 7 more wins if we play like the best version of ourselves for the rest of the season. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Seven wins means 500 in the league. With the way things have been going, that'd be good progress.

I was only counting league games. The seven I was thinking for our best case scenario are wins against Brown, Colgate (x2), Dartmouth (x2), Princeton, and Harvard. I can't imagine that would actually happen though.

I'd be shocked if we beat Dartmouth. We haven't done so in 5 years, and they're looking halfway decent this year. Princeton will be tough, too. Other 4 look like a possibility.
