Edit: In regards to the question near the end of the interview, Simon Kjellberg was born in Nashville while his father played there, although he lists his home in Sweden. I doubt that he is interested in (US) country music.
I wouldn't assume that. I always wonder how anyone would be interested in today's US country music. Yet it thrives somehow.

Re: RPI Hockey 2018 - 2019: 28 Guys Skate onto a Rink ...

For those who might be interested - if there is a team in college hockey that has had more trouble scoring goals than RPI has had, it would have to be Colgate. The Raiders entered tonight's game against Quinnipiac having scored a grand total of 19 goals in 16 games.

And they lit the lamp five times and beat the Bobcats, 5-4.

Is it too much to ask the hockey gods to let the law of averages swing RPI's way one of these nights?

No, it is not too much to ask, but they are not listening. :(

Then perhaps we should help ourselves and take more than 20 shots in a game, especially if our opponents are taking more than 40. We can't always depend on the other goalie to be a sieve.

Chance favors the prepared.

We suck in overtime this season

Re: RPI Hockey 2018 - 2019: 28 Guys Skate onto a Rink ...

While the comebacks are encouraging, it appears we have nothing left for the OT. Still feel optimistic, last night was a reversal of form in Cambridge, where it would have been easy to check out mentally.

Ralph, what's wrong? Coach mentioned a Bear injury. ;)

It was from a bear trap. ;)

Seriously, did you notice that he wasn't playing in the latter stages of the game. I never notice these things.

The game was getting boring that I'd pretty much flipped to USA/Finland.

Almost another embarrassing loss let’s
Hope this builds momentum

Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. Yes, it was not a great game, but we came out on top.

Union lost to Brown (not to mention twice to us). That would be embarrassing if I rooted for them. Yes, Army is not that good. but we have shown some resiliency in recent games, and that seems to be to be a positive step.

I didn’t notice Bear was out, but I did notice that Samec, our 19th guy on the line chart, was playing a lot in the 3rd.

I’m glad we won, but it really was a negative effort. Army out-hustled and out-skated us most of the game. If there was a loose puck you could count on a guy in black winning the race. We’ve had some games where effort didn’t lead to a win, so I’ll take it, but I won’t delude myself into thinking this was a net improvement.

This was my first Autism Awareness Night and it made me feel good when I saw a few kids that appeared to be on the spectrum (amazing how that term has entered our lexicon) enjoying themselves, but I can understand why some say it takes away from the home ice advantage. The energy in the building was very low. The soft, melodic music playing almost made me think I was in an elevator. If we are going to do this every year it should definitely be a non-league game when the students aren’t in town.

Lastly, I don’t know whether it was due to AAN, but it was a pretty good crowd for an early January non-leaguer.

IMHO, Army historically outhustled us, even when we were a consistent top team in the ECAC.

I'd be more concerned in the grand scheme of things if we out-hustled the military. ;)

True if the goal of hockey was to take a hill. Given that it is to propel a rubber disk with a stick into a net, we should be able to compete with their energy and commitment.
