RPI Hockey 2017 - 2018 Part II: Free of Troy “New” York Puns

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">RPI hockey looks to engineer an upset of Colgate <a href="https://t.co/jmKiUlcFxj">https://t.co/jmKiUlcFxj</a> <a href="https://t.co/rMJYEobKpu">pic.twitter.com/rMJYEobKpu</a></p>— (((Leif Skodnick))) (@LeifSkodnick) <a href="https://twitter.com/LeifSkodnick/status/969390868758126592?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">March 2, 2018</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

If Colgate wins the series, does it reflect poorly on RPI’s engineering program or their sports public relations program?

Up to 2' of snow with high winds expected in Hamilton tomorrow. I'm assuming the team traveled tonight...seems to me whether or not the refs get there will determine if they get the game in.

The RPI team is physically here in Hamilton, New York. The hope, obviously, is that they are also here mentally. Nobody wants a whitewash.

I'm probably going to travel tonight, as most of this came down last night. Just watch it if you're going to take 20 straight.

It didn't in 2008; why would it this time around?

Is a crew from WRPI on site? Will we be able to listen to the game tonight?

Based on the giant blue blob on radar ...pretty sure it ain't over. Friend in Hamilton told me it's ugly there now and winds are expected to pick up to 35-40. Good luck.

Also - travel advisories are in effect for Madison and Oneida counties so far

I believe they will be there. Really.
I have my caffeine free diet Coke on ice and microwave popcorn ready to go.
I'm sure Dr. D and Jenny have their gimlets lined up next to the computer. Really.

I have seen Wampsville. That crowd at the DMV can be brutal. (Who said the line is shorter than in Syracuse?)

(Copied from the weekend thread)

Before anyone flips their ****: the RPI pep band has decided to cancel the road trip to Colgate given the inclement weather in Hamilton (and also Wade Tours apparently told them they weren't willing to make the drive).

Not sure which was worse... the drive, or the game...

Of the suggestions for the next thread, I am probably going with "RPI 2018 Off-Season: At least we had an Olympian". Another suggestion "RPI 2018 Off-Season: Houston, We Have a Problem". Comments? More suggestions?

I would go with the first one. :)

Maybe I should have suggested RPI 2018 Off-Season: And Clarkson Still Sucks". :D ;)

In case you didn't get it, Houston refers to the HFH. In a broader sense it refers to Livingston Houston who was the RPI President when the hockey team was reformed in the late 1940's and supported it, and the problem is the current RPI President.

.......
Add to the end of Sucks "and SLU (or RPI) Swallows" and you have a winner. ;)

At least on the women's side I did give RPI credit by picking Selander on one of my ECAC All League teams (had her third team , she was actually 2nd team).
