One player that's been impressing me, of the frosh, is Emil Öhrwall; he always seems to have terrific positioning in the attacking zone. Granted there could be some improvement on getting the puck on the tape so he can get a good shot off, but I'd think that's a bit easier to pick up than how to get open in the right spot. If that kid's able to get some good control over the puck, it would not surprise me to see him be a double digit goal scorer during a few years in his collegiate career.

Encouraging! Certainly never close to that last year. Obviously at this stage, the rankings mean nothing as many teams have not even played but still, we have zero losses and we have yet to play a home game that counted.

Although it won't mean as much as we progress during the season but will still have a slight effect, one thing that does help is that both the ties were on the road, so the weighting favors us.

Also to file under "it is very early in the season, but we could be worse", Chase Perry is leading the nation in GAA and Sv%. http://www.uscho.com/stats/overall/division-i-men/2017-2018/ Our penalty killing is tied for best in the country.

And now for "it is very early in the season but we could be better", we are tied for dead last with SLU on Goals per Game.

Board is surprisingly quiet. I would like to see at least a tie and win this weekend.

Sadly, the board was filled with "bedwetters", and then other folks that were put off by the "bedwetters" and instead chose to spend focus on the more important things in life. Perhaps things will pick up soon, but I fear other social outlets have taken over.

At least 750 on the weekend seems like a definite must for confidence going into league play, and 1000 if we want any chance at making noise in the national scheme of things (if tOSU does well in the Big Roll-a-D20 then the ties don't seem that bad, especially since they were on the road). I'd be satisfied with 500 given the matchups, and wouldn't surprise me if that ended up being the case. Hopefully a week of practice has figured out a way for us to come out blazing.
