That would confirm Hackett is gone-gone, and Perry may be a flight risk.

Actually come to think of it, it wouldn't necessarily mean Perry is a flight risk, and maybe St. Denis is just an interim goalie; perhaps he'll have the opportunity to try out as a walk-on vs. McBain.

is the program tapped out on # of players on scholarship?

I would imagine so, but I would think that if Hackett is gone, St. Denis would take his scholly starting next year. Of course, there are people who know a lot more about this than me, so take that with a grain of sodium chloride. :D

Wouldn't the scholarship go to the recruit instead, especially considering St. Denis is a true walk-on and may just end up the practice goalie?

Marshall is probably taking his scholarship for next year, or maybe both will be on partials.

We are nowhere near tapped out on the number of players who can receive scholarship money which is in the 30's, but we probably are on number of total scholarships.

From the directory

Kyle O. St. Denis
Business and Management

Hackett has not been removed.

Is there any stream available for tonight's game in Albany?

This season just keeps getting curiouser and curiouser.
I realize that the schools second semester has just gotten underway, but how does a student enter in the middle of a school year?
If Hackett didn't do anything illegal, what could he have done to be replaced in the middle of the season?
What is going on at RPI????????

How do we know St. Denis wasn't already a student at RPI? And even if he wasn't, it's the start of a brand new semester, it's not like he's missing anything...

Nothing like losing a game you never trailed. Again. For the third time this season.

He has been playing in the USPHL this season. I don't see how he could have been doing that if he was taking classes at RPI.

I agree, in a season and coaching regime of oddities, this one is out there.

What was the plan if Hackett or Perry got hurt? This suspension and replacement feels a little too calculated for me.

I wonder how many times in the ECAC a player has joined mid-season? What a great vehicle to upgrade or strengthen your team.

Even more interesting is the USPHL is a "pay-to-play" Tier 3 league.

The last time I remember it happening at RPI was in the mid 90's, a player named Kyle Ferguson. I believe he was a transfer who left his old school mid season, and since he had to sit out a year, joined RPI mid-season. Ralph and some of the other old guys :D on here will probably correct me though.
