RPI coach Seth Appert said of Kasdorf's injury, "It was a flat-out dirty play. The league needs to look at it."

... Compete hard, and always be willing to do what is necessary to win. Whatever is necessary! I came home lots of times with a face that looked just as you see in that picture and the only question i was asked was "What did the other guy look like?"

Exactly. I loved that picture of Skeeter Moore with the black eye. It is a great hockey player pic and it says a lot.

Buck says Appert gets suspended for that remark.

Anyone with eyes could see that SA was right. But the league might not like someone saying it.
A suspension wouldn't surprise me, but it had to be said. We can't just let them run our goalies without comment.
For years we have had great goaltenders, and for years, they have been run with no penalties called.
Its funny, I thought that the referees did a good job letting the teams play up until that point. And then they had two situations where matching penalties should have been called and they chose just to send us to the box. I can't explain that.

For what its worth in our game last night Hayton got run at least 3-4 times during the game. So far this year I can't say that we are blameless doing it the other way as well, but, I have to agree. The referee's have to start calling this to protect the goalies better. Last night one such incident led to a near fight and 5 minute major and game misconduct for Union.

Union was the team involved? I'm just astonished and amazed.

Re: RPI Hockey 2015 - 2016:: Six Flags Over the HFH

For the football fans. RPI came from behind in the fourth quarter to beat Springfield 17-14 to keep their small hopes of an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III championship tournament. They are now tied with SLU (who beat us head to head and therefore has the advantage). If we beat Union next week (and they are 0-6 in the league and 0-9 overall) and somehow Merchant marine can upset SLU at SLU (MM is 2-4 in the league and 3-5 overall and a large underdog for this game), then we win the Liberty League championship and receive an automatic bid. If we do not receive an automatic bid it is exceedingly unlikely will we receive one of the at large bids (there are only 6 such bids nation wide and we are listed as 10th on that last as of today). In that case, we would be receiving some other offer to play in a more local playoff game. Regardless, this has been one of the most successful RPI football campaigns in some time. Congrats to the team, they deserve it!!!

Re: RPI Hockey 2015 - 2016:: Six Flags Over the HFH

Shi/s gotta stop

Teams have been running goaltenders for years. Until the officials start calling it, it will continue. The other method (beating the poop out the charger) is not a method sanctioned by the NCAA.

They were running my son in PeeWees (concussion #1), High School (concussion #2), but not in college (surprise - but it was MASCAC). He got bumped alot, but his only college concussion was when his own teammate knocked his skates out from under him.

Yes, he's retired and now coaching.
