RPI Hockey 2015 - 2016 (Part II): We want more banners, not more flags

Re: RPI Hockey 2015 - 2016 (Part II): We want more banners, not more flags

DrD, your next trip to Verdile's just got a little darker, as Mr. Verdile has passed away. Tough year so far for Verdile's between this and a 21-year-old waitress who was allegedly murdered by her stepfather.

There should be a very good RPI contingent at the games this weekend. Between those of us traveling and the RPI alumni base there, we'll have a loud crowd there. From what I see, the Pep Band is also making the trip. Let's do this.

To top it off, I'm told this weekend starts spring break for Harvard. Which means less guys named Brent in ascots at the game.

The Pep Band is making the trip with 21 instruments (including my sousa and RKarger's clarinet) in tow. They are planning to stay for all three games if necessary, so we'll go a long way to turning that rink into Houston Field House East for a weekend.

You don't need the weed known as jimson,
To think we can beat twelfth-ranked Crimson.
With our fans in their stand,
and the RPI Pep Band,
Let's go into Bright-Landry and win some!

Re: RPI Hockey 2015 - 2016 (Part II): We want more banners, not more flags

I feel that all Limericks need to begin with "There once was.." So let me try...

There once was a team based in Brighton
With their foe, Engineers, they were fighting
They shot and they shot
But no pucks could they pot
For the lamp behind Kasdorf was not lighting

If you want to make it sound right, you'll need to drop your g's - like a good upstater or East End Londoner or perhaps even an actual native of Limerick.

SB Nation rates Parker Reno as #9 NCAA free agent. http://www.sbncollegehockey.com/2016/3/9/11182480/top-nhl-free-agent-prospects-in-the-ncaa They rate him as #74 on their Top 100 NHL prospects list to be published,
Dangit RB. I just “cut & pasted” that & you’ve got it already. I have a feeling Milos will be drawing more attention than Parker. Wouldn’t surprise me to see Viktor’s name on some team’s list.

Sorry. :)

I hope that Milos gets more attention since he has used up his eligibility. SB Nation seems to me to have a bias to Minnesota natives.

....when blown up that sure looks like Lou on the left. Good to see if it is.

Re: RPI Hockey 2015 - 2016 (Part II): We want more banners, not more flags

Senior women's hockey player Lauren Wash '16 sat down with three members of the men's and women's ice hockey team at RPI (Liljegren, Ohrvall, Selander) and asked them about their experiences as they transitioned from Swedish hockey to Division 1 college hockey in the United States. The video was directed and edited by Wash and produced by RPI Athletics. http://www.rpiathletics.com/news/2016/3/9/mens-hockey-blue-and-gold-to-cherry-and-white.aspx

Edit: Lauren Wash is a Communications major, so this was probably for a course.

More so for Jen who knew the Verdile family from way back. She actually knew the place years before the two of us made our regular Friday night stop for dinner starting in 1975. The bad news keeps coming faster these days. Thanks for the information terrible as it is.

Really good interviews by Wash. I was particularly interested in the interview with Liljegren and the comments by Appert on his development. Really think that he has a lot of potential to be a skilled power forward in this conference and beyond.
