Re: RPI Hockey 2014-2015 Part II: Dedicated to Rich Curadi
I still believe that when the stars align for us on any given night, we can be a very difficult team to play. The freshmen, for the most part, have indicated that they are for real. it will be so important though for them to progress each year and hopefully we do not see the stagnation or regression of their talent and spirit. I have not paid great attention to the recruits coming for next year but I am very pleased with the group SA brought in for this year. There seems to be a very big upside potential here (but I have said that several times in the past decade and we have just not seen that happen). If this team is going to do anything at all over the next 2 weekends-Kasdorf will have to be the same fellow that he was 2 years ago. Anything less and we will have that incredibly long off season we have gotten used to.I think there other factors that have driven people away from the thread, the constant sniping on small things kills wanting to join the fray. I know there are some disappointments this year but injuries have been a big part of it. I'm assuming none of us thought we were going to be a scoring machine with the subtraction of Zalweski and Haggs. There have been bright points for me and the weekend sweep of the National Champions and our main rival (not Clarkson) was sweet. Kazzie was more like Kazzie this weekend after slumping a little. I think he can put it together here late and he and the boys could steal a series or two.
