Ya why the hell would we haven't made it to final 4 in 11 years

Very true. It took 18 years for Union to win a playoff series. Who did they beat?
In 2010-2011, Colgate went 0-13-2 in league play all the way to February. Who did they beat?

Re: RPI Hockey 2014-2015: Dedicated to Rich Curadi

I guess its been at least six months since someone dusted this beauty off....

FOR THE RECORD: SHIRLEY'S NEW SHACK WAS PAID FOR ENTIRELY BY THE MEMBERS OF THE SCHOOL'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS. No sheckles from the 'tutes coffers were harmed in the process.

I'm no apologist for Kim Jeong Shirley, but at least get your facts straight if you choose to rant. :D:D

Facts?

We don't need no stinkin' facts!

We just need to hate the leadership blindly because they're the worst and stuff! BECAUSE REASONS!

Re: RPI Hockey 2014-2015: Dedicated to Rich Curadi

injuries aren't an excuse to lose to Brown. As I said last night, they had tons of chances, just didn't convert. Brown did.
I've seen two games now and in both of them the shooting has been awful. We don't finish well and beyond that we also seem to be lacking poise with the puck. If I had to grade the team after yesterday here is what I would give:

Goaltending: D
Defensive positioning: C
Skating speed: A
Hustle: B
Hockey sense: C-
Passing: C-
Shooting: D
Situational awareness: D

This team needs a play maker that can make others around him better. The closest thing they had last night was Neal but he is not quite clicking with others. I'd prefer to see the coach settle on some fixed lines once the injured return.

If I may add a few other random comments...

Luke looks bad at forward. He's not fast enough and when he tries to use his size it doesn't work. Perhaps it's because he is going against large D-men instead of forwards but I saw him pushed off the puck more than once.

Bubela seems to get lazy at times. After we scored the 2nd goal in the third and had a PP, the puck came out and he had a chance for a quick regroup and send his left winger right back in. Instead he took a rather deliberate looping turn and then when he saw his man whipped a pass out of his reach. He needs to bare down more.

A little better netminding and they might have won that game. The first two goals were somewhat soft and it gave Brown life. If RPI scored first then Brown would have pressed and made mistakes. Instead, they sat back and packed it in on D.

A little respect for Ralph please. He is the elder statesman along w/ DrD. A little decorum would be nice towards the founding fathers of this thread.

I could care less about someone's age, race, gender, sexual orientation, or whatever sort of classification you want to make up. Everyone's treated by the content of their character by me.

What about height? :)

The team needs a " Gaudreau ". That would certainly help with scoring

A "MUST READ" in this mornings chronicle.com on Shirley Jackson. Sounds like she could turn around RPI hockey were she the coach...but she would have to borrow to do it! Here's to the Debtorneers!

Jason Kasdorf needs to get healthy he needs to do it quickly and he needs to stay healthy it begins and ends there everything else is just noise.

And exactly how does that address our lack of offense? Or is that just noise?

That is a major problem for this team. A healthy MNM line could go a long way towards solving it. But we need at least one more line to develop a chemistry and be able to spend some time in the other team's end while disrupting them coming up the ice. I absolutely think we have enough talent to be far better than we have shown but we have to have them all healthy and on the ice and we need to keep set defensive pairs together that actually work well and communicate with each other and our number 1 goaltender. Without all of the above we have little chance of success against anyone.

I don't believe we are the only team in this league with scoring issues but having said that I'll leave it to the hockey expert's here to decide if having an elite goal tender and yes Jason is an elite goal tender sitting in the stands IS a major problem. It seems to me this season was shaping up to be decent were we on our way to a frozen 4 most likely not but we had a very good start and some of our best players were incoming freshmen all encouraging. Now that Jason is out the wheels are off the cart a little...coincidence...I think not.

Given the age and location, I conclude this is not our Ralph Baer. A relative perhaps? If so... condolences.

Since several people have emailed me, here is my response.

"No, I investigated that many years ago. We are somehow distantly related, but not on the male line, since that is predicted by our DNA tests. That result occurs for most European Jews due to the Jewish population in Germany having been reduced to a few hundred at the time of the Crusades. BTW, his original name was Rolf, not Ralph. I exchanged emails with one of his children a couple of years ago."

I thought your name was really Rolf and that you used Ralph as a pseudo to throw everyone off? Is your DNA recorded someplace? I have always been afraid to have mine determined since I think way back in my family there might have been a Doberman Pinscher in there someplace.;)
