Thanks everyone! I'm in the Pharmacology department here, and I'll be working on drug development targeting a protein (MKP-5) implicated in multiple human diseases, most notably Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

But more importantly, let's beat my new home tonight!

The only saving grace of all of these injuries is that they are happening in a season where they are clearly not getting an at-large bid to the NCAA tourney. Their record will not be as important as how well rested and firing on all cylinders they are come playoff time, and they have shown at least glimpses of being a team that is capable of competing with anyone if they get hot and can figure out a way to stay that way for more than a game or two.

Lines are listed on website. Nanne, Melanson, Kasdorf out hurt. Bokenfor, Gillespie and Bell also not dressed. Curadi on 4th line. Schroeder is back. Some people need to step up in a big way. This team needs at least one win this weekend. LGR!

,,,RPI fans get .... multi-million dollar mansions for the president.....

I guess its been at least six months since someone dusted this beauty off....

FOR THE RECORD: SHIRLEY'S NEW SHACK WAS PAID FOR ENTIRELY BY THE MEMBERS OF THE SCHOOL'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS. No sheckles from the 'tutes coffers were harmed in the process.

I'm no apologist for Kim Jeong Shirley, but at least get your facts straight if you choose to rant. :D:D

Congrats man! Can you cook up something to make a kinder, gentler FlagDude?

Re: RPI Hockey 2014-2015: Dedicated to Rich Curadi

According to Ed Weaver's story today Nanne is out. Let's hope that shoulder inury was only a separation and he will be back for Harvard at the end of the month. Weaver says Melanson has Mono. I'll defer to our physicians on this forum to discuss that, but Mono usually means at least 4 weeks which would have him out of the line-up until Miami or the Q'Pac Princeton trip in January. This team can't seem to catch a break. They need to find a way to get at least one win this weekend, then hope to get some people healthy over the holiday break. Th BU game doesn't mean anything, but could be a chance for a couple of guys to earn some more playing time. It is past time for some more of the juniors and seniors to step up their play. Tonight would be a good time for them to do that. LGR!

Mono is a tough one to predict. Firstly, it is not just a simple one disease fits all. Young, otherwise healthy adults recover quickly but there are some serious sequellae to be aware of(especially hepatic involvement and splenic involvement). Also important, it would be important to know just how long this has been going on. It is conceivable DM has had this for weeks and was even playing with it. The recent travel schedule certainly could have influenced his ability to fight off this unusual virus. I had it as a sophomore while at RPI and it took me forever to recover 100% and had lingering weakness, tiredness and lethargy for months. Some cases are so mild that we do not even consider the diagnosis and it just pops up when we see the blood work. Here's hoping he is already on the road to recovery as he is about as exciting to watch as anyone in an RPI uniform has been in a long time.

Every year I'm sick of the injuries. No other team in ncaa has so many . Bad strength and conditioning? Bad strength coach ?

Re: RPI Hockey 2014-2015: Dedicated to Rich Curadi

injuries aren't an excuse to lose to Brown. As I said last night, they had tons of chances, just didn't convert. Brown did.

Colgate has certainly suffered a lot from injuries this season.
Injuries and illness certainly seem to be taking a toll, especially on the team's best players. However, this program has seemed to be one that finds ways to lose games they appear to be able to win. They miss the net on too many shots. Their goalie has had a couple of bad performances when they needed him most, etc.

I do have the feeling that there are some players, particularly the younger ones, that have the talent and grit to be better than recent RPI teams when they get healthy. The upcoming break is sorely needed. That loss to Brown was troubling. That is a team you have to find a way to beat, and like recent seasons they found a way to lose. Let's see how January goes before piling on the scorn. I still think this team can make strides later in the season.

I would put money down right now that RPI does not make it to wherever the ECAC championship weekend is being held. And I would entertain any honest calls on that, too. The only way we're getting there is if we face, in the quarterfinals, a certain team that has a knack for ending long bad streaks. I don't want to name any specifics, but let's just say they still suck.

Your statement would imply that we would get a first round bye which is highly improbable given our performances to date. Not one quality win in 18 games. An 'offense' that has produced a paltry 1.61 goals per game will not produce many wins. Only a fool would take your suggested bet. Excuses, excuses - we are injured, we have a bug running through the team, the team looks exhausted from a long bus trip, we lost half our offense to early defections, the team wasn't motivated or ready to play, bad bounces, bad officiating, etc., etc. Other teams experience the same afflictions. Over the past decade players have come and gone but there is one common denominator. Until that mistake is owned up to and rectified, we have many years of the same to look forward to.

Ya why the hell would we haven't made it to final 4 in 11 years
