Re: RPI Hockey 2014-2015: Dedicated to Rich Curadi

Which night did you watch RPI?

Why put a d-man at the forward position? Were the other available forwards injured?
Hampton hasn't played D all year. He must have moved, similar to Brutlag a few years back.
Ok....that explains putting Hampton up front. In the 4-1 loss to Denver last weekend, he also had Brokenfohr playing forward on a line with Wood and Hampton. Has he also converted Brokenfohr?
anyone want to buy my season tix for the rest of the year? 3 available.
I will not panic yet. The freshman class has talent and I think Kasdorf will hit his stride soon. Having said that, I agree with what most people saw this weekend. The team looked totally out of sync most of the time. They continue what we have seen the past few seasons they pass, pass, pass and seem to be looking for the perfect shot. Time to Chang tactics and throw everything at the net and go hard to the goal. Most of the upperclassmen stunk this weekend and both goalies were barely average. RPI was outplayed in every facet. The special teams are atrocious. The power play has no flow and appears to have no plan. I believe this team has more talent than some people on this forum. Something is desperately wrong and I have no clue what it is, but a 1-3 team that opens at home with two listless, unspirited and uninspired performances such as we saw needs to decide they want to do more than just show up. It starts with the coaches and the seniors. If union can't get this team motivated, then this season will be lost very early on.I really hope you aren't serious, but it's sad it has come to this.I noticed 3 gentlemen who used to sit behind us in Section 7 must have gave up their seats because they aren't there this year and have been for at least the last 5 seasons.
As far as what happened this weekend and in particular last night, I don't think I've ever seen an RPI team play a worse game. There was never the sense that they would mount any sort of comeback. Bentley played well but I can recall a time when 2 games at home vs. a team like Bentley would have meant 2 wins and lets move on..
I saw an RPI player (upperclassman) totally give up on a board battle. Stopped digging, stopped working, he just leaned back against the boards near the RPI bench and the Bentley player just came up with the puck. I actually had to turn around and ask the guy that sits behind me if what I saw actually happened, and he saw it too. How can nobody score? I actually thought Haggs and Zalewski leaving could've been a good thing because it would have opened up opportunities for other guys, but at this point that doesn't appear to be the case.
I agree with what EHF said, they looked totally uninterested. They look totally lost and rudderless out there. And looking across the way at the bench during stoppages in play or during play , I don't see much coaching going on. Just arms crossed, looking at the backs of jerseys, and puzzled.

I see the majority of posters are gone too, either driven out by the teams performance or driven out by some negative posters. If its the latter that's too bad.
A little bit of both for me. As much as I'm a little disheartened right now, it's hard to deal with the overwhelming negativity of "lol im selling my season tix now" or "FIAR APPART AGAIN". It's also hard to deal with a sweep by Bentley. I expected a rough start due to all of the new blood on the team this year, but even our goaltending, which is the one thing RPI usually has to fall back on, has not looked better than average thus far this season.
It's this kind of blather that makes his site less and less attractive to me. I'll bet my house Flag Dude that we score again this year. If we do, then how about you stop posting garbage like this - for one year? We've already pretty much lost any shot at an at-large by losing to Bentley. But forget the playoffs, or even a game, I just hope we can score another goal at this point.
Bad weekend for sure. I do have concerns with Koudys and Zalewski leaving (for different reasons). Something just smells a little off. Zalewski is not even playing much for Utica. Perhaps he's hurt? If not, then you've got to wonder why anyone would leave school 2 years early to be a borderline AHL player. The clock only ticks for prospects for about 200 games before a team starts to give up. Waiting those 2 more years would have made a lot of sense. Perhaps he just felt like he was spinning his wheels?
It is still early and for me the jury is still out on this team. Let's see where they are at Thanksgiving.

We will likely lose comparisons to most AHA teams which should be a given for any decent contender.
