Re: RPI Hockey 2012-2013 Part IV: Not A Finished Product Yet

Are most of them somewhat local as well, or intend to stick around? I know that was one problem that was experienced in between after I graduated and you came into play.

Some are from far away but plenty are NY/MA/CT/NJ, and I think plan to stick around. If the team does us a favor and can take the first weekend off that'd be even easier to make sure we have enough people. My freshman year we still had enough people around for the first weekend of spring break that we were able to supplement Colgate's band for their series against Union. With the team doing this well, spirits are high in the band, and the most important thing is that we know ASAP when we'll need to be where. :)

It's possible for us to be on the road in two weeks (granted it would take a complete breakdown on our part along with a miracle for everyone else), but hopefully we can lock that up tonight. Burgie12, are you well enough to post the standings? If you weren't, I was going to do a Friday update, but if you are, I don't want to steal the good thing you have going. Of course, I may figure it out for my own sanity.

These standings?

No, he probably wanted these standings.

I'm going to give every effort tonight to give an update after tonight's games, but we'll have to see.

Given the situation, you'd probably do just as well to wait and do an update on Sunday.

Oh, wait, I forgot...some people apparently do believe that knowing who to cheer for on Saturday will make a difference in the outcome of those games...never mind.

Will the update be before or after you take your pain medication? This way i will know whether to double check anything.;)

Hey... it's better than watching Saturday's games and going... wait, who are we rooting for in this one, again?

For me, I'm rooting for the Cherry and Red in the only two games I'll be following this weekend. :) That makes it simple.

Ever since I saw the first version of Bedazzled (the one with Peter Cook and Dudley Moore) I learned that one has to be very careful in how one phrases what they wish for.

In one scene, Dudley Moore wishes to be surrounded by beautiful women who all love him, and POOF! He is dressed in nun's garb as Mother Superior in a convent.

In a 21st century version, I can just imagine someone saying "I am so sick of hearing [so-and-so]'s voice" and then be stricken deaf.

Well, that doesn't much change the fact that there are results in other games that would make life easier for our guys.

Yes, but it is hard to read the numbers on the Cherry and Red's jerseys. ;)

Can't win them all. Fortunately most of the other games cut RPI's way, so the Tute still controls its own destiny for 2nd place. Just gotta get back at it tomorrow.

Re: RPI Hockey 2012-2013 Part IV: Not A Finished Product Yet

So, when I drove by Cortland on the way home, I found our team's game. Nick Bailen's game I saw around Tully. That was INCREDIBLY sloppy.

Re: RPI Hockey 2012-2013 Part IV: Not A Finished Product Yet

I was looking at the boxscore and noticed that Iles got an assist on the Cornell's SHG. Didn't we give the puck to them?

Also I note that Bailen got a -4 for the game. He was on the ice for all of Cornell's goals and not for Fulton's. I wonder what the record is for being "perfect" in that regard.

Agree completely, but we have to win. If we win this evening, the loss vs. Cornell won't hurt and could actually benefit the team psychologically.

We are now #23 in the PWR.
