Re: RPI Hockey 2012-2013 Part II: You Better Starting Posting the Engineer Way

That was some time in the past, I've already forgotten what happened. Tomorrow, I will have forgotten what happened tonight.

well perhaps you can at least remember that your "joke" that RPI women are so physically unattractive that you can't tell them apart from men, while it may have been mildly funny the first 25 or 30 times you've told it, is starting to become a bit tiresome and is losing whatever humor it may once have had?

a friendly request, and since typed words sometimes lack tone of voice and body language, said in a mild, bemused tone with a shrug and a gentle smile.

you have your shtick, fine, go with it, just make a small modification on this one point, please. :)

Re: RPI Hockey 2012-2013 Part II: You Better Starting Posting the Engineer Way

I'm not sure if I was watching a different game but at least the 1st 2 PP's, maybe 3, we had our "A" PP unit on the ice. After the usual big goose egg in those attempts with minimal shots on goal I started to see SA switch it up and run the lines. I also noticed #7 was not getting any ice time after the 1st period so I wonder if he re-injured himself. So I am sure we will see a replacement for him tonight but this is only speculation, I have no inside information or anything saying he is injured but just noticed he was not seeing the ice time and am figuring that is why.

Other than this I would say we played a pretty solid game against a good team. However, this is a team that likes to play our style of hockey, in my eyes. Tonight will be back to a defensive type team who, as some have mentioned, clogs up the neutral zone protects the front of their net. We still have large improvement, IMO, doing this with our D-corps. Kasdorf better be in goal tonight otherwise our great coach really should have his head examined. This kid from what I have seen is the real deal. In the first couple games I thought he gave up some easy rebounds but as everyone could see last night he was like a vacuum cleaner. I just hope our offense did not put too many on the board and saved some for tonight. LET's GO RED!!

Do not forget game time is 4pm today!!

I can remember pi to 227 digits. I cannot remember what I typed 10 posts ago. I do not mince words to make it sound more appealing.

There have been a lot of great comments about the teams play last night, and rightfully so. But I can't believe that nobody has mentioned the play of the Zalewski line. The freshmen were outstanding and give us a line that could put up a ton of points in the next three and half years. Also, the are the most exciting line to watch.

Wow!!! good job but they have to get that power play going.
I see that Seth is sticking with Kasdorf. That is a good move.
They haven't scored 6 goals since....... 2010.
6 goals I bet the boys had fun last night. They really have to play hard tonight, no letup.

Re: RPI Hockey 2012-2013 Part II: You Better Starting Posting the Engineer Way

When do the line sheets come out for a 4pm game? Figured it would be earlier than usual because of the early start.

Re: RPI Hockey 2012-2013 Part II: You Better Starting Posting the Engineer Way

We win 6-1 and everyone is still arguing.

Off the top of my head I can only remember about 3 games in the SA era where we scored 6 or more. And only once did we win by at least 5 goals. i will try to look that stuff up later. We have not been much of an offensive powerhouse in the past 6 or so years. yesterday was great-but i dont expect that kind of offense today. We will have to be ready for more of a defensive effort and as always, special teams may rule the day.

Three out of four possible points this weekend. Is it time to talk contract extension for our great coach ;) ?

Aspy-I want to take whatever it is you are taking.:) Yesterday we played well and SA seemed to make all the right moves needed. Today was like rating a song on American bandstand-it had a decent beat but was hard to dance to. We lost considerable chemistry somewhere. We made some horrible defensive plays that allowed 2 easy goals against. Kasdorf was superb. We had nothing left in the tank at the end. As much as SA likes to say the team has to be led by the seniors-this team is as good as the freshman line and the sophomore line will take them. We have 2 very good young lines. Some of the more senior players may need a bit less ice time in favor of the younger boys, some of them have yet to get into the line up for much time. Our defense is not completely in sync-there too SA needs to make some changes. We have a couple games only in the next 3 weeks-let's give the younger kids some more time and responsibility and get this team set for league play.

Sorry my man, just gotta pump up the family business. Grandmothers family owns it...
Ummmm...I think you left out the part where you will be leading us on a field trip to the great Pepe's for a family tour and pizza gorging..... Please advise as to calendar availability. Many thanks. :D

Please see post #551. :p I referred to Z, but did not intend to leave out Bubela. I've been impressed with him since the first shift I saw him skate.

Easy Tiger... Let's beat the tar out of Union a few times first, if that's OK. :D

Re: RPI Hockey 2012-2013 Part II: You Better Starting Posting the Engineer Way

Games like today agains a team like Brown are particularly upsetting. If we were 10 and 2 I wouldn't mind it so much as I could say we took them lightly and gave one away.
But that is not where we are. We have one league win and that was yesterday. We have no right to take anyone lightly. We should have come out and run over the Bears.
We just don't know how.
We have the talent, I saw it against Yale. I saw it against Ferris State. I saw it for two nights in a row for two periods against Minn. State.
It is just depressing how they can follow up a game in New Haven with the one they played today in Rhode Island. Some thing is amiss or something is missing.
I hope they can find it by January.

Re: RPI Hockey 2012-2013 Part II: You Better Starting Posting the Engineer Way

The weekend action ends with Union & Yale skating to a 2-2 tie. (Yale tied it with maybe 3 or 4 minutes to go in the third...)

And as usual Union won the battle of special teams-scoring 1 and giving up 0 despite yale having 8 Power plays. They have the right formula for success-score a power play goal early. Then play with the lead as well as anyone.

One win and one tie, and the win was against a team we regularly paste. Nothing special. He's gotta prove himself some more.
