Once i get to that level i will probably just shut up and post very little. QUOTE]

You better not. Everyone was bummed you weren't there last night. In fact, tb, turk and I agreed were are going to go to Princeton to pay homage to you.

Jenny and i got our tickets today -sows how princeton works-they told us to expect them 10 days before the game. But they must need the money since they charged our card immediately. We are hopefully bringing a few hockey people with us. One friend from Montreal. Possibly one from Toronto. keeping our fingers crossed that the weather holds out since january in Princeton can be horrible as they handle the snow poorly.

A kissing your sister tie tonight-but admittedly we were not playing as well as we had played Friday. This is a very good FSU team so a win and a tie is really quite good for us. Considering last year they goose egged us twice and outscored us 6-0 and this year we outscored them 5-3, I think the improvement is pretty obvious. Nice to have Laliberte with 3 goals already. Two very solid goaltender performances. Some things for SA to work on but how do you severely criticize when you have no losses yet? On the road with 2 late games next weekend-a chance for the boys to bond on the road. I wonder what changes in the line up our coach has planned? Do we see kasdorf in one of the road games? I know very little about Minnesota State but I am pretty sure they are not as talented as Ferris is. But they might present a different kind of challenge for us. In any case-Let's Go Red!!!!

Hopefully we improve each weekend's results by three points from last year. ;)

From what i saw-we have a number of things to work on. None of them critical and most of them can be remedied. After 2 games-one would have to think we are a much improved team from last year. Not sure that there is much reason to monkey around with the lines unless an injury occurs. There seems to be some chemistry developing as the boys on some lines seem to find each other out there fairly well and we are moving the puck. The SOGs tonight were pretty even but i was a little unhappy with the number of good chances we gave up to Ferris.

IMO we turned in about the same effort tonight as we did last night, which is a good thing. I was correct about them starting Merriam tonight, and I'm almost positive that it was predetermined. No reason for them to do it otherwise. Diebold is better at minimizing the potential for disaster with rebounds etc. during the game. There is a lot to be said for putting rebounds in the corners / out of play, and he seems to have a better handle on that than Merriam. IMO that skill, which Merriam is lacking in, is what resulted in the additional quality scoring chances that FSU saw tonight. Other than that, they seemed to play well and as a unit, a 2nd performance better than any I witnessed in person last year

I wouldn't be surprised to see them sneak into the top 20 next week.

If this team can stay injury and illness free, I like the chances of first round home ice and maybe sneak into the top 4. Great to see JL with 3 goals in 2 games, maybe he has found that Cornwall magic and we could be in for a fun ride with him. Miller is just plain fun to watch, works hard every shift and gives other teams fits with his hustle. Minnesota State beat and tied UAH so who knows what they will be like next weekend. Both games in our place were good to watch.

Re: RPI Hockey 2012-2013 Part 1: Pocket Protectors and Hockey Sticks

Congratulations on an impressive weekend. The blend of snobbery and contempt directed at some conferences and geographic areas has not done well so far this season. Let's keep up the good work.

We'll do what we can, just do your part in a couple weeks. More ECAC wins in the non-con means more teams we get into the national tournament.

Merriam STILL freaks me out in net. I just cannot watch that kid play. There's just this begging for him to stay where there's blue paint.

Merriam had some big saves tonight. Give him some props and/or creds.

No doubt we have things to work on. We were confused when FSU turned up their speed and intensity, but we hung in there. Also, we only lost one period over the weekend. I like that!!!
And I know this goes back a ways, but when JL scored his second goal of the game, all I could think of was Mike Bossy. That one timer from the slot was his bread and butter. It was a great memory.

As a Rangers fan, I try not to think of Mike Bossy. :D

Re: RPI Hockey 2012-2013 Part 1: Pocket Protectors and Hockey Sticks

Would like to see the JL, Haggs, Neal line move up to first on the depth chart providing more ice time. This also would give them the chance to play many minutes with offensive minded d-man Bailen, providing more scoring chances when were 5 on 5. BTW- Buebla is going to be a good one and I really like Miller. He's a great find.

Interesting that three of the last four times that I have been to Troy, I returned my rental car to the same RPI fan at the airport. (Hi, if you are lurking.)
