RPI 2025 Off-Season: Help Is On the Way

A lot depends on how many of Smith's recruits still want to come and which ones Lang wants. A quick back of the envelope assessment says we have 11 forwards, 6 defensemen and 1 goaltender. If we take 4 forwards, 3 defensemen and Krawchuk off the committed list we are pretty much done with the exception of another goaltender. Perhaps one more forward. Hopefully Coach Eric has those spots lined up and we'll hear about them soon. I wonder when the recruit and schedule announcements will come out. It's about time for Ralph to publish his statistical analysis of the last decade or so of our release calendar.

This is based upon 4 October 2025 for the start of next season.

Great hire! Excellent coach and recruiter
Obviously I don't know as much about this guy as you do. My first reaction was "the former Devils goalie?" Now that I've read his bio it's apparent I see he's moved rapidly up the college hockey totem pole in the last 1/2 dozen years so "In Lang we Trust."

That fills what seemed to me to have been our second biggest hole, the biggest being a someone to share the goalie load with Krawchuk.
Yeah the goalie to split with Krawchuk is easily the biggest need. Barring any unforeseen decommitments, we are set at defense and probably forward (although we have room for one more if we want)

Things certainly seem to be looking up. If this keeps moving in that direction I may actually have to spring for some dough and subscribe to ESPN+. Which in some ways make actually be saving us money since we mostly go out to a local pub to watch and the drink prices have suffered from inflation to the point that I may have to settle for house vodka!!

I join ESPN+ in October and quit in March each year. I watch RPI on my computer, TV and phone. Sometime watch other ECAC and HE games. Very nice.

We had joined once before but found with Comcast that often the games would not start with the opening puck drop. often missing several minutes. Also had a few episodes of totally lost signal during the games. Some years we find that many of the games are not included and are instead either not broadcast at all or covered by FloSports which is totally separate. we have been fortunate to find a local establishment that has it and when not crowded with basketball fans, we can usually command one large screen and tune to the RPI broadcast when available. But with fingers crossed, this year might be different!!
