Let's Go 'Tute!
Today is 17 April 2024. There are 171 days until RPI's next game.
This is based upon 5 October 2024 for the start of next season.

Yea it’s crazy; he reminds me of an old Shaquille O’Neal quote “he’s been a winner at every level except college & pros”
maybe, like Shaq, he can get it done in the NHL.
Seth got zero support from admin. Best thing for him was to get away from Shirley and particularly Lying Lee.

For those interested, the men's lacrosse game between #2 RPI and #7 Union will be on RPI-TV today, I was told. I'm probably going to go check it out. Game time 1 PM.
Edit: My thoughts after RPI's 16-12 victory.
1) Lacrosse is an exciting sport, but the rules are very odd.
2.) RPI's faceoff guy needs to don a pair of pads and skates. He was excellent.
3.) RPI's goalie needs to don a pair of pads and skates. He was excellent.
4.) Even though the goalie was excellent, Lacrosse goalies don't stand a chance in a one on one with the shooter. They have no padding and can't use their bodies to save the ball unless the stick comes with them.
5.) There were guys flying on and off the field at any given moment. Not a line change, just random guys. THe defenders don't play offense and the offense doesn't play defense. It was very confusing.
6.) Guys have long sticks and short sticks. I have not found out the difference yet.
7.) RPI plays very very well defensively. Union very rarely was able to get a good shot off, which helps the goalie because he has no shot at a save if they do.
8.) RPI player Luke Murphy I was told is the leading candidate for the DIII Tewaaraton Award (Hobey of Lacrosse), and it shows. Union could not stop him.
9.) We might have to try to find some broadcasters willing to take a trip to wherever the DIII Lacrosse championship is played (Baltimore? Pittsburgh?) in case RPI makes it there.
Overall, I'm glad I went as it was my first outdoor lacrosse game ever, but man was it cold and windy at ECAV. Also, college students are an odd bunch, both men and women.

Beaton, Lee, Agnew, and Gagnon are returning next season.
I would disagree with this comment. If there was zero support, he would not have been getting the contract extensions he received. Also, Seth was able to hire a hockey operations director, and Seth, as well as his assistant coaches, got a considerable salary boost. it was to be the start of a new era with improved budget support because Seth was "Shirley's Coach".
Anyone know if we are done getting players out of the portal? I think we need a couple more forwards. Itagaki still available. Ambrosio available, Thompson out of Alaska recent addition to the portal. Wilmer would be a phenomenal addition. Emerson was a guy I thought we would have a chance with. New York kid. Merrimack grabbed him
Had trouble getting on the board earlier, so it's pretty late in the day, but I wanted to make note that April 18, 2024 is the 25th anniversary of Wayne Gretzky's final game in the NHL.
Believe it or not, there was an RPI connection.
Gretzky's Rangers lost the game to the Pittsburgh Penguins on an overtime goal by Jaromir Jagr. The win secured a playoff berth for the Penguins.
The Penguins' coach was former RPI player Kevin Constantine. The Penguins then went on to upset the Devils in a first-round playoff series, thus making Constantine the only coach in NHL history to have led two eighth-seeded teams to first-round Stanley Cup victories (the other time was with the Sharks in 1994).
By any chance, is he available to replace coach Smith for the upcoming season?
I was hoping for one more decent defense man. Perhaps one with at least 2 years left to play.
