RPI 2023-24: In Our 200th Year, We're Getting It Right

In honor of Michelle Nutescu, today is 5 October 2023. There are 2 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 7 October 2023 for the start of next season.

For the football fans - odds for the weekend show Ithaca as a 6.5 favorite over RPI.

For the Hockey fans - there is no line available for either Men's hockey games. Neither the scrimmage which I expected would not have a betting line nor the exhibition with Guelph. however the Girls are 1.5 goal underdogs to Bemidji St for each game on Friday and Saturday. Should be more of a test for them than the 4 previous games after which they remain unbeaten.

In honor of Carson Cherepak, today is 6 October 2023. There is 1 day until RPI's next game.

So when does RPI update their men’s roster? Season starts tomorrow and they have no pics for the freshman/transfers. Last years pics are still up. No bios

Well, the rpiathletics website has been redesigned, so there probably will be more problems. :-D The link to the article about that appears to be broken.

The change screwed me up. I went to buy Freakout tickets and began the usual treasure hunt to find where we put the ticket link this time - from the schedule, the "more links" on the men's team page, "Fan Central", etc. It turns out they put it right on the athletics home page. What kind of challenge is that? At least I got 4 high at center ice.............

It looks like we have a new ticketing system this year, called AudienceView Campus. How is it that a major technological university can have systems that are 10 years behind the times? This system requires the fan to either download all the tickets as a single printable ticket file or download a mobile ticket file that must be brought up via an Internet connection on site (a formula for problems) or stored in the phone’s file system (which many people never use). There doesn’t appear to be a way to store them as ticket objects in the phone’s secure Wallet as with any other mobile tickets. That also means you can’t transfer some of them easily without sending the entire file or seeing if you can cut it up with a PDF editor. I guess I could print them and then scan each to mail separately, but why?

For the football fans- RPI made every conceivable sort of error (2 interceptions, 2 fumbles on center snaps) penalties, etc) that you could eve4r think of and lost in OT to Ithaca 17-14 in a game that they could have, should have and would have won. Ithaca is a very good team and was the favorite but we honestly outplayed them for most of the game and just gave this one away.

You are correct that we are quite small/

not only that, but when you’re up by 4 with less than 4 minutes left and you’re on the opponent’s 15 yard line, you at least attempt the field goal. You do not go for it in that situation, kick the FG, go up by 7. You would have won the game if the rest of the game played out like it did. Bad coaching in this game.

Wondering why not try field goal when ahead 17-13 on bad snap play?
