Can’t help but notice other programs releasing their schedule along with season ticket applications/renewals. Sure hope we can start going to RPI games again like the rest of the civilized world. Also didn’t McElroy say coach smith would be have a extension soon? Is that code for I don’t care

A free article on Neutral Zone mentioning that Cherepak committed to RPI. https://www.neutralzone.net/mens/202...minnesota-rpi/. The last paragraph refers to the semi-final game that his team was eliminated in during the Centennial Cup.

’02 G Carson Cherepak (★★★1/2) to RPI for 2022

Cherepak was outstanding for the Dauphin Kings in the MJHL this season, where he posted a 2.21 GAA and .921 save percentage in 38 games. Then in the playoffs he was stellar, including a 1.19 GAA and .961 save percentage in the Centennial Cup.

The Winnipeg native was ranked No. 282 in our 2002 National Rankings and he was the No. 4-ranked 2002-born player in the MJHL.

NZ Scouts (Centennial Cup): “Carson gave his team every opportunity to win this game. He plays way bigger than his frame perceives as he gets aggressive to shooters, taking away any angle to beat him straight up. Cherepak flies around his crease effortlessly getting to the right spots at the perfect time. He swallows up pucks and did not let any rebounds to dangerous areas.”

The new guy has only had the keys to the kingdom for less than three weeks. He is no doubt addressing a mountain of issues in advance of the fast approaching fall semester, not the least of which will be the school's COVID policies. I take the scheduling of the golf tourney as a positive development and expect there will fannies in HFH seats this fall........fingers crossed.

On a separate note, a colleague of mine had an opportunity recently to interact with the new Prez' wife and found her to be extremely pleasant and down to earth.

I thought it was Larry Landon. And I also thought that who Ralph was referring to

Players from the Landon and Stoyanovich era I knew little about because news about RPI hockey didn't travel too well before the internet. It also didn't travel well in the Shirley era, but that's another story. :-D

Given his performance during the season, playoffs and Centennial Cup I'm surprised he's only 3.5 stars. It's probably "small goalie syndrome" as it seems like anyone smaller than 6'3" 190 lbs. gets marked down.

It could also be that they have not revised the figure recently.
