Re: RPI 2019 Off-Season: Where Did Everyone Go?

I am sure that Smith has some input on this, but shouldn't we be pointing a finger at the athletic director? What does he do anyway?
Is he aware that this is a D-1 program? does he know what that means? Is he a living and breathing athletic director?

He should know what it means since he previously was at a D-I school.

Re: RPI 2019 Off-Season: Where Did Everyone Go?

Unless there is strong opposition, I intend to start the 2019-20 thread when this one closes as opposed to a second off-season thread or a pre-season thread.

IMO the best title for the thread so far suggested is "RPI Hockey 2019 - 2020: Nordic Combined". This depends perhaps on Simon Kjellberg (Sweden) actually arriving. I think that we would have heard already if Ottoville Leppänen (Finland) or Lilli Friis-Hansen (Denmark) were leaving, The women's recruit list containing Ena Nystrøm (Norway) has been published.

Additional suggestions for a thread title are still appreciated.

Two in a row, nice 👍. I’m like the Ralph Baer of thread names

ETA: or maybe “This is Not a Drill” to play off the fire drill game from last season

Yeah but this is his retirement job. This job was basically given to him. I doubt there was much of a search for col knowlton replacement. He’s on easy street.

I think we should keep going up the food chain. It's SAJ's fault. What does she do beside ****ing people off for her multi-million dollar paycheck? Wait....let's go further. It's Sarah Huckabee Sanders' fault.😂

Flaggie would have blamed it on Obama. :)

Confirms Freakout! for 2/1 against UVM. Seven games against 5 different HEA teams, plus a pair each against Canisius and WMU. I don't know why we have two weird split home-and-homes.

Re: RPI 2019 Off-Season: Where Did Everyone Go?

I had the day of the first game correct! I wonder how often I have done that before.

Re: RPI 2019 Off-Season: Where Did Everyone Go?

They obviously aren't meant for this, last year's KRACH values suggest that we expect about 11-12 wins (depending on how you handle ties) out of this schedule. Basically right where we were last year.

EDIT: I did a very basic adjustment based on how much teams tend to regress to the mean (i.e., their ratings tend toward 100), and that method yields 12-13 wins. So yay.

RPI 2019 Off-Season: Where Did Everyone Go?

It’s got a great lead-in to Thanksgiving week. I’m sure the players will be thrilled about playing Friday night in Troy and Saturday night in Buffalo. That’s so we can help Harvard in their annual pursuit of Beanpot consolation game glory (in 10 of the last 11 tournaments they have been playing for 3rd). At first I didn’t mind it, but now that it’s an annual thing (and Harvard hasn’t exactly represented the ECAC with success), it’s ****ing me off.

At least we are not playing Harvard on a Tuesday night. I never liked that situation. The question is, why couldn't we schedule a home game following the Harvard game?

Wow good for him! I assume this would be a good thing for RPI recruiting wise since he's an alum. Please correct me if I'm wrong though and it wouldn't affect our recruiting at all.
