Uh oh! Rules are being made because of us again! ;)

They are considering dressing 19 skaters, rather than 18. It was only 14 or 15 when I was a freshman.

Not surprised by this, considering it's seen in international play. And it may justify the large number of players on the squad.

Does this mean they will add a second tier, perhaps a luxury suite, to the benches?:)

It was pointed out on eLynah that having 19 skaters will put players who can play both forward and defense (like Meirs Moore) at a premium. When there is a match penalty, a DQ, or am injury, this will allow 4 lines and 3 pairs of defensemen to still play.

Given the number of times we've played XD in the past few years, this is going to make that decision much easier. I wonder if this was already in the talks, and why we have so many players coming in this year above and beyond replacements for those who left.

It is not certain that our roster will be bigger than last year based upon how many are apparently leaving and at least one (Ashbrook) who is deferring for a year. Lacka may also be deferring.

I would like to invite you to attend the 25th annual RPI Hockey Golf Outing on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Shaker Ridge Country Club. Come spend time with our student-athletes and new staff, while enjoying a day with your friends, alumni, and supporters of RPI Hockey. Our 2018–19 Engineers will be on hand to help as well as greeting you at various holes. Challenge them to a putting contest if you choose!
Proceeds from the golf outing enhance and upgrade our program in many ways. These upgrades allow the program to provide the type of experience our recruits and student-athletes need to contend in ECAC Hockey and nationally. As a program, we are appreciative of the support and passion you show for RPI Hockey.
Check in begins at 11 a.m. and tee time is scheduled for 12 p.m. Lunch and dinner will be provided and the auction will be terrific.

Come join me at the 25th Annual Men’s Hockey Golf Tournament.
