Oates has certainly passed Midghall in assists but still a nice story.

Re: RPI 2016 Off Season thread: A Drivel-free Summer

Adam Oates certainly had a lot more assists during his RPI career than Paul Midghall did, but he also played a lot more games.

Oates recorded a total of 150 assists in 98 games, while Midghall had 118 in 63 games.

Seems as though Midghall could still rightly lay claim to holding the school record for assists per game, with 1.87 compared to Oates' 1.53.

I wonder what has changed since the Union Constitution was reviewed and amended in the last few years and then approved by the Board of Trustees?

Re: RPI 2016 Off Season thread: A Drivel-free Summer

I realize the ECAC has probably the best goaltending year in & year out so perhaps it was good training ground for Mark Miller. Scored again tonight making it 3 straight games with a goal. BTW, he went from wearing #77 to now #25 & also got the starting nod tonight...... http://www.echl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=13579
.....now 4 games in a row for Mark with a goal.....http://www.echl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=13592

Re: RPI 2016 Off Season thread: A Drivel-free Summer

For those who may be looking for any sort of good omen -

LaSalle, Penn, St. Joseph's, Temple, and Villanova, collectively known as Philadelphia's Big Five schools, have accounted for two NCAA men's basketball championships. Those occurred in 1954 (LaSalle) and 1985 (Villanova).

Readers of this thread may be aware of who won the NCAA men's ice hockey championships in those years. ;)

Villanova is now ranked #1 in the NCAA basketball poll. :)

Re: RPI 2016 Off Season thread: A Drivel-free Summer

The world has turned upside down. An eternal truth has been negated.

I had a lot of years to enjoy being one of the very few people in Pennsylvania who knew the answer to the question "What school has won the NCAA hockey championship in every year in which a Big Five school has won the basketball championship?"

Sure would have been fun if that had continued to be true this year.
