Some have intimated that you were the inspiration for Dr. DiPrima’s smash hit, “Just a Gigolo”......hey, you started the puns.

I started them a long time ago. :)
As to Folsom Prison, I didn't make it up, it was often used.

It was also the 31st anniversary of George Servinis' championship winning goal.
For the record, he was not off sides if you were sitting in Joe Louis Arena stands and mostly drunk. Our seats, however, were not all that great. But even if they were, after 4 or 5 Vodka Gimlets, our view of the ice was a bit out of focus. At the time he scored, it did not seem like that would end up being the winning goal. It appeared either we would score a couple more or providence would just not get anything past Puppa.

Basically what I see this saying is that they're going to try to use a language loophole to perform a hostile takeover of the Student Union.

After a 125 year relationship between the Institute and the Student Union, President Jackson cites ambiguity in the language regarding the relationship between the two.

Ambiguity? After this length of time? Please!

I wonder how well the periodic the meetings between selected members of the student government (hello, GM & PU) and the Board of Trustees have been going lately? Perhaps more to the point, will the lack of faculty and student support, coupled with the state of the Institute's finances move the Trustees to consider some level of change, whether in personnel or in management process?

My guess: 125 years ago, there was no need for being precise. It was a simpler time, and both parties knew what was meant.

I wish I could remember with some specificity what motivated the Board of Trustees to remove President Dick Grosh from office in the mid-70's. President George Low was a marked improvement in every respect.

In many property disputes, the courts have found the concept of an easement to be persuasive: enough unchallenged regular usage creates a right over time even if that right were not explicitly granted at the outset.

I've read that these kinds of disputes happen frequently with waterfront property, say. For 50 years people walk down to the beach on the same path, then someone tries to block them, it goes to court, almost always the long-time established usage pattern wins out.

I wonder if the students know any good real estate attorneys, that at first might sound like a stretch but especially in NY state it could be a solid basis for a legal challenge along the lines you just presented. I'm sure there are plenty of state court precedents (imagine how much litigation there would be in this area on Long Island, for example).

Re: RPI 2016 Off Season thread: A Drivel-free Summer

Regarding an easement, for example, the thread title apparently has not deterred what it purports to deter.... ;)

Somewhere, former RPI basketball coach John Quattrochi is still cringing over the way his name was spelled in this article. :o

That was so far off that I didn't even recognize the name.

Some of our mascots sucked??? Red Army must be referring to the Red "chicken" Hawk. Can't possibly mean swarm. Swarm was cool, a lot better than Puckman .

But your opponents sure enjoyed calling you the chicken hawks. :D

Re: RPI 2016 Off Season thread: A Drivel-free Summer

Mark scored again last night in RC’s 2-0 win over Alaska. 2g in 3 games plus 2a, good start to his pro career.
I realize the ECAC has probably the best goaltending year in & year out so perhaps it was good training ground for Mark Miller. Scored again tonight making it 3 straight games with a goal. BTW, he went from wearing #77 to now #25 & also got the starting nod tonight...... http://www.echl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=13579

FWIW, the Union Constitution was reviewed heavily by the students in 2013, and amended again in 2015. Both times, the Board of Trustees reviewed said changes and approved. Not sure what's changed since their review last year (except Dr. Jackson's desire for the Union).
