Re: RPI 2015-16 Preseason Thread: To Dream the Impossible Dream

RPI's first regular season home game will be against #1 BC. Let's kill the king.

“We are excited to partner with the American Sports Network and Sinclair Broadcast Group,” said ECAC Hockey Commissioner Steve Hagwell. “This relationship provides ECAC Hockey with greater visibility and, most importantly, showcases our great member institutions not only to our loyal fan bases but to hockey fans across the country.”......http://americansportsnet.com/asn-reaches-deals-with-four-top-hockey-conferences/

...and based on the schedule in the same link, we aren't on any of those televised games.

Re: RPI 2015-16 Preseason Thread: To Dream the Impossible Dream

This kind of co-op program is not unusual, and I'm kind of surprised RPI didn't already have it. Having actual work experience coming out of undergrad makes a huge difference when you're trying to get a job.

RIT requires two full semesters and a summer before students can begin their senior year and as far as I know, it doesn't affect their athletic programs. We're kind of behind on this one.

FWIW, Julie Aho (women's hockey alumnae) did a year-long co-op as her "redshirt", so it's entirely possible to make it happen. I'm surprised that they wouldn't accept a summer co-op/intern as part of that, though.

Re: RPI 2015-16 Preseason Thread: To Dream the Impossible Dream

yep, only 2 ECAC games

12/4 Quinny @ Yale
1/29 Colgate @ SLU

Heck, I'm shocked they had an all-non-ivy ECAC game. Then I looked at who played in the ECAC championship last year...

RPI freshman Brady Wiffen will sit out entire season after being ruled a partial qualifier by the NCAA. Tough blow for Engineers' offense.
