RPI 2013/14 Part III: Maximum Overdrivel

Re: RPI 2013/14 Part III: Maximum Overdrivel

So ecac gives 2 more games to Bennett. But also a one game suspension to appert. What did appert do except shout a bit?

Doesn't really matter what OGC "did" or "did not" do. it's symbolic, more a penalty on the whole team rather than to him personally.

Edit: oops, you said the same thing yourself a few posts later. :o

Why does it feel like Dutchfan is the only rational Union fan on this board? There are a handful of others but boy do they ever get drowned out by the dumb ones. And considering that there's now a Dutchman - just one letter off - who's a Hoky wannabe that's leading to some confusion. I basically tell the difference in that one has green rep and the other has red.

Union needs more Dutchfans in their fanbase... or maybe I just need to find a way to interact with them more frequently because... ****. The ones on this board remind me of the retards who tried to fight me outside the Field House after the Marty O'Grady game.

Answered your own question :)

Also, give it time. They're actually relevant at D-I now. When their overall performance normalizes a bit and trends middling overall, the bandwagoner garnet-tinted-glasses wearing fans will lose interest and we will not have to deal with their blather anymore.

If you didn't have Hokydad on ignore, you would realize that he is very rational too. :D :p ;)

yes, a severe personality disorder doesn't necessarily mean a person isn't rational.

From Wikipedia:

Antisocial (or dissocial) personality disorder is a personality disorder characterized by a pervasive pattern of disregard for, or violation of, the rights of others. There may be an impoverished moral sense or conscience and a history of ... impulsive and aggressive behavior.

....

It is characterized by at least 3 of the following:
1. Callous unconcern for the feelings of others;
2. Gross and persistent attitude of irresponsibility and disregard for social norms, rules, and obligations;
3. Incapacity to maintain enduring relationships, though having no difficulty in establishing them;
4. Very low tolerance to frustration and a low threshold for discharge of aggression, including violence;
5. Incapacity to experience guilt or to profit from experience, particularly punishment;
6. Marked readiness to blame others or to offer plausible rationalizations for the behavior that has brought the person into conflict with society

Sounds fairly apt, eh? We've seen 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 first-hand.

Have there been any boxing matches at the HFH in recent years? I know that Mike Tyson had a couple of matches in the HFH early in his career there as well as others in the Capital District. I remember being shocked seeing the HFH (I guess still the RPI Field House) on TV at the time.

Not since I started there.

I cannot recall any... ever. I'm 24, so none in the last 15 years I can think of.

The vibrant Capital District boxing scene dried up pretty quick after Tyson went global. It's starting to make a minor comeback, but we know Mat Bodie isn't going to be part of any future bouts if his line of retreat show on Saturday is any indication.

The last one we saw there was a Tyson fight(we saw 2 but I am not sure if there were more). He fought William Hosea but I am not sure i even got into my seat when it was over in the first round. We saw his previous fight there but if I recall it was some sort of DQ in a middle round(5,6 or 7). There were other fights held there in those days(the mid 80's) but we only attended 2 of them.

That was the thing about watching Kid Dynamite when he was fighting in Albany, Troy, Latham, and Glens Falls - you wanted to make sure you were in the seat for the first bell because chances were pretty good the fight wasn't going to last too long.

Re: RPI 2013/14 Part III: Maximum Overdrivel

Realize I'm a day late, but I am glad the ECAC extended Bennett's suspension. Every video I saw showed he was not only the aggressor , but actually hit Zalewski in his attempts to get to Appert. IMHO he still get off easy.

RPI has games this weekend and that has to be the focus now. Go get'em Engineers!
