RPI 2013/14 Part III: Maximum Overdrivel

Re: RPI 2013/14 Part III: Maximum Overdrivel

Not if you went logarithmic. Use the fingers for mantissa and toes for ordinate and you could get to 1,023 x 10^1,023 which is quite a big number.

Yes, but once you got past 1023, you would have to go to 1030; there's no way to get to 1024 unless you had a way to notate decimals in your mantissa.

Re: RPI 2013/14 Part III: Maximum Overdrivel

Also non-inclusiveness. For example, it cannot express (1,023 x 10^1,023) - 1.

That's actually what I meant by nonuniqueness since I was looking at figuring out what a certain configuration of fingers and toes means. The problems with this are indeed in both directions.

Re: RPI 2013/14 Part III: Maximum Overdrivel

from the weekly press release:

FRIDAY’S OFFICIALS: The referees on Friday are scheduled to be Harry Dumas and Brad Leblanc ... The linesmen are Bill Bredin and Glen Cooke.

SATURDAY’S OFFICIALS: The referees on Saturday’s are scheduled to be are Harry Dumas and Scott Whittemore ... The linesmen are Bill Bredin and Michael Emanatian.

Getting Dumas twice? I thought lightning never struck twice in the same place? Having him and the 3 Musketeers with him is going to make both games even more difficult. Not that we need any help in that regard with JL and Bradley likely out.

Re: RPI 2013/14 Part III: Maximum Overdrivel

-Just finished watching the Olympic Hockey game between Canada and Austria.
-Canada won 6-0.
-They built up a 6 goal lead after the second period.
-Austria put in their back-up goalie for the 3rd period. The great Matias Lange! He made 15 saves in the 3rd period and shut out Canada.
-The announcers had many good comments about his time at RPI and the ECAC (he being an ECAC All-academic).
Best, Jim

Maybe they're forecasting tonight's game in advance. Let's hope it doesn't come down to that.

Re: RPI 2013/14 Part III: Maximum Overdrivel

Judging by some of the scores this weekend in the ECAC I'm guessing Scotty D gets the nod for GotW.

Re: RPI 2013/14 Part III: Maximum Overdrivel

On the afternoon of Jan. 24 I posted that the RPI men's and women's teams were headed in opposite directions...the women looking better each game and the men floundering. Since then...the women have gone 0-7-1 and men 5-2-1. :o:o

Re: RPI 2013/14 Part III: Maximum Overdrivel

I will post the late games in the AM.

Alec Dillon is the backup for Victoria http://www.bchl.ca/leagues/hockey_boxscores.cfm?clientID=1413&leagueID=2393&gameID=1231554&link=bchl. (Started at 6 PM PST so will be over fairly soon.)
Jared Wilson is playing for Vernon http://www.bchl.ca/leagues/hockey_boxscores.cfm?clientID=1413&leagueID=2393&gameID=1231555&link=bchl.
Austin (Manley) @ Fairbanks http://nahl.stats.pointstreak.com/boxscore.html?gameid=2250943.

Doesn't this usually go in the recruit thread? ;)
