RPI 2013/14 Part II: The HFH is Covered with Frozen Drivel

Re: RPI 2013/14 Part II: The HFH is Covered with Frozen Drivel

You missed the point. My point was that his goal scoring was being used as an excuse for him to get away with what he has been doing.

It does give a bit of leeway in my book, but he has indeed taken a couple of very poorly timed penalties. Others have taken more penalties, but he probably leads in poorly timed penalties/total penalties.

But you don't have to be a psychology major to know that benching one player for not being perfect, especially when that player is being touted as one of the best players in the country, is a great way to make an entire team squeeze the stick a little too hard.

Hey, what do we know? It pales in comparison to the supreme intellect of guy we all wish you would join us in ignoring please Ralph.

Just so I can get both the Fire Appert group and the OGC group upset at me, I think you are both ridiculous. He has brought alot of good to RPI and has shown some growth as a coach. He is a good ambassador for the school. As far as OGC I think I have to change it to OGHB (Our Great Human Being). As a person, what a nice and gracious man. The few dealings I have had with him have shown nothing but class and humbleness There is more than wins and losses that come with being a great coach but 40 games under .500 is not to be confused with "great coach" in any circumstance. Blast away!

Well said, John. It is tough to figure what is missing; support from admissions, coaching or recruiting, but I'm sure we all expected this program to be ahead of where it is by now, and that includes the coaches. We have seen a lot of players get better in their time at RPI, so I see that as an indication that something is going right in practice and the games. As for this year, not many teams could lose their top goalie, and only draft choice, for the season and still challenge for a title. Let's see how they respond down the stretch before writing off this season.

Man the field house is gonna be a beacon of positive vibes tonight if the rest of the our fanbase is like this place. Haggerty might as well not show up and Appert should cut his hair so as to not be noticed by the mob waiting for him.

Not certain that he'll be too intimidated by a one-man mob who can be overcome by handing him a card reading "How do you keep a moron in suspense? (flip card)," double printed.

Just until the next time that we lose.

Given what started this whole diatribe, if we win both this weekend, I will reconsider the "Fire Appert" message, because he will have accomplished what he has put onto himself.

Why would I blast you for that? Unlike the cultists on this thread (i.e. Fishy and the dude that thinks he's South Korean), I don't blast people for having specific opinions. You have hit the nail on the head, in fact you've done more than that, the nail is firmly and securely in place. Is he a nice guy? Definitely. Can he recruit? For sure. Can he lead the team to victory? Not as well as some of us would like. The question is, what is the most important in terms of our hockey team? We have seen that it is winning that puts butts in the seats for the fair-weather games. I would say that ranks pretty high, especially if sports is a business proposition for the student union. Does a person grow through their first job? Yes. How long are we willing to wait? Seven years is more than enough time.

If people have the same feelings they did in the beginning of 2009, it sure is possible.

Nice to see RPI hold on to the lead and close the game out, that's been the achilles heel for this team throughout this year. Wish I could go to the TU Center tomorrow to see the boys take on Ghostisbehere and the Dutchmen.

#17 and #19 played the way they can last nite. We won puck battles and played with urgency in all three periods. I like the d pairing of #4 and #5. #23 was inspired on the PK. All in all a good effort.

Re: RPI 2013/14 Part II: The HFH is Covered with Frozen Drivel

Yeah, we totally should have benched Haggerty. Probably would have won by even more, or something.

The Tinordi-Rogic-DeVito line was fun to watch. Really enjoyed that combination.
