Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. IV

Mid-May and still no confirmation on Laliberte. Does this guy exist? Is he ever coming to Troy? After three-years of major hype on this site the poor guy will have a ot of trouble living up to expectations if he does ever play for RPI.

Ive heard that the athletic department is putting together a video for when Laliberte debuts at the field house, I was able to get a copy

RPI TV usually produces better stuff than that. :p

Joking aside, do we know if they were the ones who produced the Puckman commercials last summer? Because those were great and I only wished the marketing people would have bought some airtime to showcase those great commercials.

Given they are the campus people with the video cameras, I would think so, under the guidance of Mrs. Vines-to-be.

BTW Ralph, since most of us are in the offseason (with the exception of the B.R.O.) are we going to merge this into the offseason thread?

We might as well after this thread closes. I had thought that everyone's season would be over before that happens, but it looks like that won't be the case.

You're totally winning. Duh.

Gotta do something while people start to fret over if JL is showing up or not. I will stick by what I have been saying all along about him. If he shows up great, if he doesnt oh well guess he didnt wanna be an Engineer.

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. IV

The USHL entry draft gets underway in a couple hours at 11am est., could be interesting to see if Zach Schroeder gets selected, which would likely mean that he is indeed deferring until 2012-13. Kasdorf could be another to keep an eye on as well.

Anyone interested in following the draft can do so here: www.ushldraft.com

At this point, I would be quite surprised if Kasdorf doesn't show up in Troy. As to Schroeder, he could certainly end up in the USHL.

"Start" to fret? It has been going on for years already. :D

That was seriously the best thing posted in this thread since Diebold's commitment.

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. IV

I'd take that with a grain of salt, I don't expect he's going to come in and be the #1 right away. The job's Merriam's until he does something to lose it. Believe that.

I agree. In 2008-9, Lange started the year as #1, but by the time the season was over, York had surpassed him. That could happen again.

In any case, as you also have said, we do need a second scholarship goalie, so whether or not Kasdorf is coming is a significant factor.

Neither was selected. I think that the only person whose name has ever come up here who was selected is Riley Bourbonnais who was selected by Cedar Rapids in the third round.

Yup-but it sure will be nice to have 2 competent kids fighting it out to see who performs the best. I am very comfortable with Merriam as long as we have a back up to go to as you just need to insure against any sort of injury.
