Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. IV

It has gotten quiet over here since most of the seasons are finished. Hopefully the BRO can bring home a title for the Saints and then get to Troy for summertime training.

Just wait until JL appears in the directory. :)

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. IV

You might have to explain that to most of the posters on this thread.
Unfortunately, too many of us are old enough to remember that day.

Im a youngster in terms of age myself, but I for sure know who the Beatles are and how they changed american music.

You can add me to the list of people feverishly checking the directory. Although given the reputation built by Joé Juneau and the Angers-Goulet brothers, I wonder what degree he'd finish in 3 years, even if it's EMAC or GSAS...

If I understand things correctly, because Juneau and the AGs live in Quebec where one goes to HS for 5 years, they all transferred a lot of credits to RPI. JL, however, lives in Ontario which operates under the English system.

Ah, didn't know that. I guess you learn something every day.

Standard disclaimer: Please remember that I don't remember where I got this information from, which means it might be wrong. :D

I have a few friends from Montreal - RB is right. They go to high school for three years (equivalent of 9th, 10th, and 11th grade) and then a program called CEGEP. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CEGEP) It's a two year education that sort of bridges high school and university. You can't go on to university in Quebec without a CEGEP degree, and that's why most Quebec universities are three year programs.

Juneau and the AGs finished CEGEP before coming to RPI, I assume, which would give them a lot of transfer credit, at least a year's worth.

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. IV

Which are better, Yale locks or Diebold locks? Discuss. ;) We'll find out in two years.

That should earn me another headdesk from RC. :D

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. IV

He sounds like a real nice player, but I don't think I want him in Troy.
We have a very close knit group of players right now, and I don't think we need a parent with the input that his father seems to have making waves in our dressing room. SA has enough on his plate.
That said, I hope he stays away from the ECAC.
Give Seth some credit. He's been recruiting stud recruits for a while now, he has more than enough experience to handle parental units. He knows what kids he wants on his squad and how they fit in the puzzle.

According to Facebook, tonight is Dubuque vs. Green Bay, 7:05 PM "local" (so I assume that's Central). I usually listen on superhits106.com.

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. IV

Last years recruit class press release was put out on the 24th of May I believe. So do we think it will be the same time this year or later depending on who is coming and not coming in at the goalie position?

My gut feeling is that it will be later this year because they will be waiting for the goalie to go through admissions process.
