Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. IV

I have alphabetized the recruits and added a column with the expected year(s). I put the goalies at the end. I am sure that some prefer the old way. Now we can argue if anyone else's year(s) should be changed. :D

The formatting of this does not work correctly for me - i.e. players' stat lines are wrapping rather than getting put into a scroll box.

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. IV

Mac Leopard, 1024 x 768 (or similar) resolution. The formatting used to look fine before Ralph changed to alphabetical order.

Perhaps it's the extra column. Have you tried experimenting with a higher resolution (if it's possible)?

I've been having wrapping issues on my Win 7 Chrome for a while. Personally, I'm surprised that horizontal scrolling is not supported / the default for these text areas.

The wrapping doesn't bother me too much. It just leads to a lot of extra rows.

Sounds like typical Winblows to me. I haven't seen the new format on linux yet (let's just say I'm pulling an AspyDad right now), but I'll see what that wroughts.

I was getting scrolling before the switch; now it's not available.

I forgot to mention that I'm on Safari. I'm at the maximum resolution possible.

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. IV

IMHO, this is much nicer. It's easier to find the recruit we want, and there's less whitespace, allowing for it to be more comprehensive.

:)

That is weird since it is a bit wider I think. I did shorten the babble on the right on a couple of the lines for women because it caused me to wrap. I am using 1680x1050 with Windows. I also tested it with Chrome.

I could, of course, eliminate heights, weights, and dates of births, but I thought that it was useful to have it all in one place. I could move that to another line, but it might not look good.

I might as well wait for further comments.

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. IV

Works like a charm with Winblows and Firefox. There is wrap on the women's side with Internet Exploder and a disabled horizontal scroll. 1440x900 here. I'll check tonight with Linux and Firefox (I don't have Konqueror, but who uses KDE anymore anyway? :D)

Works fine in Firefox 4 but in IE8 there is no horizontal scroll and I end up word wrapping as others have found. Not a big deal and appreciate all the information being there.

Re: RPI 2011 Recruit Thread Pt. IV

We just got a new goalie, and this is what we're discussing.

I think F Dude sometimes gets into the technical mumbo jumbo to dazzle us with his bs because he feels guilty for not giving us any help when we were figuring out the NCAA tourney scenarios.

What? One of the posters had a formatting issue with what another had posted, so why not figure out what is wrong with that? I find it quite interesting that two topics can't be discussed within a thread. After all, that's why most of us utilize the "Reply With Quote" feature. I'm glad you're jealous of computer savviness, though, despite my unwillingness to put together a coding project while working 40 hours a week.

Why are you so crabby lately? It's not the Sabres thing is it. BTW - I am not jealous of your computer savviness, troyboy and I do coding projects in our spare time.

6' 1" and 145 lbs? It's been many years since I weighted 145 lbs, and I'm nowhere near 6' 1" tall. Another year of Nebraska corn feed might not be such a bad idea before taking on the rigors of D-I.
